Man Door Hand Hook Car Door
editDoes that old meme deserve a mention in the article? Fairly certain that's what it was inspired by, and it was insanely popular back in the day. I think that this story should have been newer because hooks are very uncommon and a person escapeing from prison would be cool.
I'm nots sure if a meme is worth mentioning. I am not sure what the last part of your post is trying to say. I. Addition, please sign your posts by adding 4 tiles at the end

Spoiling the moment!
editIt is not explained why anyone, mad though they be, would use their hook hand rather than their functional hand to manipulate objects.
I reckon that just spoils the whole "creepiness" of the Hookman story.

Two legends
editI think the legend bout the boyfriend hanging above the car is different from the legend of the hook and should have its own page. I'm pretty sure they're considered seperate legends and not two versions of the same.
I fully agree. I think that the person who wrote that part just copied and pasted from snopes. Please sign your posts by using 4 tildes.
Possible Origin
editthis story sounds a lot like the zodiacs murders but with a bit of difference —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.98.126.24 (talk) 00:07, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Expansion and significance
editThis article is severely underdeveloped and is missing a great deal of information on its subject, it should be expanded, with more information on the legend and variations of it, its origins, and references in popular culture because of its significance. In the article it says the legend is a classic, from what I see so far there is no proof of that in the article nor it is it expanded to it's full capacity to show it. Hopefully this article will get some much needed attention from someone that is willing to work on it.--Paleface Jack (talk) 23:40, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

What? Nothing about Peter Pan's Captain Hook?
edit"Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up or Peter and Wendy is J. M. Barrie's most famous work, in the form of a 1904 play and a 1911 novel." It certainly pre-dates the legends here, and the young attraction between Peter and Wendy when contrasted with Captain Hook's evil is all too similar a theme in The Hook mythology.2601:281:C204:6170:5DF7:F593:4CF1:887A (talk) 06:13, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
