Fair use rationale for Image:Drizzt 6.gif

edit

Image:Drizzt 6.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

To Improve

edit

I've started tidying up this article as well as The Dark Elf Trilogy.

More reviews & Sales History
I've added one review but more needs to be added. A couple more critical reviews should help establish notability. Also any sales history on the novels . . was Halfling's Gem the only one that made the NY Best Seller list?
Comic Reception & Sales History
Reviews of the comic and sales history. So far I have only added the Crystal Shard sales history.
Plot Tidy up
Plot needs some rework. Lines like "Later, our heroes get to Calimport . . ." needs rewriting.
Character Section
Basic list of characters in the trilogy.

That's all I can think of at this moment. Any help to fix up this article would be appreciated! Stextc (talk) 04:25, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reversion of Article After Posting Amazon.com Editorial Review

edit

In the interest of heeding the notices at the top of the article, "focus on discussing the work rather than merely reiterating the plot" and "This article or section needs sources or references that appear in reliable, third-party publications", I posted the three-paragraph Amazon.com Editorial Review of The Icewind Dale Trilogy Collector's Edition[1]. This review is germaine to the subject, objective (in that it both commends and criticizes the work), and not abusive to either the work or the author. My post included a link to the above source.

The article was then reverted by a "JOHNathan", and I was given a message averring that my post was "unconstructive", and I was told to read the Wiki editorial tutorial. I did so, and then re-posted with an edit summary.

I was then messaged that my re-post was "vandalism". However, as said post was made in good faith, I do not understand how it constituted "vandalism" under Wiki guidelines, either.

Would someone please explain how an objective, unabusive review from a third party of this first work in a long-running series posted in good faith constitutes "unconstructive" "vandalism"?

Due to copyright you can't just copy and paste a review verbatim into the article. I have added a skeleton of how the review should look in the article. Please feel free to expand or add more reviews if you can source them.Stextc (talk) 05:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
