Proposed plot edits

I have mostly reverted Wikiuser100 (talk · contribs)'s changes:

• Yes, the city is meant to be Boston. Yes, reliable sources say so. No, the place to say so is not in the Plot, because all the film says is "a New England city". A footnote might work, but I don't think it's necessary given that the topic is discussed later.
• The important thing about the man whose funeral Skeffington attends isn't that he is Irish—his ethnicity doesn't matter—but that he is an old friend of the mayor (and unpopular, but there's no disagreement there).
• Saying "Rebuffed" is redundant given that we've already established that he's been turned down by Cass's bank. "Subsequently" suggests that Skeffington's threat regarding Cass's son occurs some time after the confrontation at the club. "Unintelligent" is preferable to "dimwitted", and "vows to contribute large sums of money" to "swears out a blank check", because of WP:TONE.
• "Staged" and "concocted" aren't appropriate because they implies that the fact that McCluskey's campaign is sponsoring the broadcasts is secret or hidden.
• "Ward healing" (sic), "flesh pumping, and get-out-the-vote efforts" all mean "street money", which the previous version linked to with the pipe text "money", the wording used in the film's final scenes. It is always preferable to use phrases that have wikiarticles because that establishes that they are, whether slang or not, established enough for use in article text.
• Describing Skeffington's vow to run for office again as "false bravado" is WP:OR. He's served as governor before; why not again?
• "Gather a final time", "brusquely asserts", and "snorts" again violate WP:TONE.
• Skeffington dies almost immediately after his last words. The fact that the two events are almost simultaneous is important—the former adding emphasis to the latter—and thus "before dying" is more suitable, and tigher, than "later quietly expires". (talk) 19:14, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

I don't mean that to sound as snarky as it must. Did you watch the movie? Do you know what you're doing throwing around WP:Tone and jazz like that? How are we going to work this out, thumb wrestle? Accurately conveying what transpired does not violate "Tone". And the Boston thing, for goodness sakes, Curley threatened to sue and the studio paid him off. It's nakedly Boston, in the book and the movie. Pretending that it isn't and hiding behind whatever veil you are seeking to is outrageous. Gee whiz. See you in article space.
