Only war pic?

edit

Stewart appeared in a number of movies in uniform, like Strategic Air Command, etc. It would perhaps be better to say that this was his only combat-oriented picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.15.64.225 (talk) 04:24, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

It was the only film that depicted war, not war-like conditions as in the Cold War. Check it out, there was a conscious effort not to appear in films in which he would be glorifying war. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 04:27, 8 July 2012 (UTC).Reply
There are a few war films starring Jimmy Stewart:
  • "Malaya", 1949 MGM. WWII South Pacific battle sequences borrowed from "They Were Expendable", 1945.
  • "Shenandoah",1965 Universal. Opening Civil War battle sequences borrowed from "Raintree County" MGM 1957.
P.S. Stewart was the only Hollywood star to fly bombing missions in both WWII (B-24 "Utah Man") and Vietnam (B-52 56-0601).Spottbilligscope (talk) 01:22, 9 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

To be specific, Stewart does not appear as a soldier in any other film set in World War II. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 01:26, 9 July 2012 (UTC).Reply
