Starring parameter in Infobox

edit

Typically, the Starring parameter in Infobox film is only for top-billed actors (or in this case, voice actors), and this one is particularly bloated, listing practically everyone in the film. I haven't actually watched the film yet, so I'm not sure about the billing in the credits, but only the main characters should be listed. Thoughts? Generally starring list is those advertised by film marketing as starring. Sometimes this shows up on official posters. Another way is if the film has opening credits some may be listed as starring. If getting the info from the end credits that usually lists everyone. I haven't seen this film so someone needs to check how the actors are credited and prune the list as I agree it is unlikely the current laundry list is accurate. Before the film released, the only two there were Charlie Brown's actor and Bill Melendez, which I still feel is a good inclusion for the infobox. As for the film, the on-end credits (ie before the scrolling ones) lists each actor for the characters, which as I recall is not the way it is listed in the cast section. What I do know, is Noah Schnapp was first, and Melendez was last. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:18, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Without a better standard to determine the starring cast in order to prune the list it should probably remain reflecting the first time the actors are credited separate from the whole cast. Geraldo Perez (talk) 23:29, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
After seeing the film, the billing in the credits is listed as this: Noah Schnapp, Hadley Belle Miller, Mariel Sheets, Alex Garfin, Francesca Angelucci Capaldi, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, Kristin Chenoweth, Bill Melendez. Draco9904 (talk) 23:57, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cast list

edit

The cast list (not the Starring parameter in the Infobox) in this article is all over the place; minor characters are being listed first and everyone is listed in alphabetical order (as far as I know, the cast list shouldn't be in alphabetical order). I tried a couple of times to change it to a more accurate and correct order, even in the order of the Starring parameter, but these changes have been reverted. I don't know why this is and this is bothering me. I haven't seen the film yet so this issue needs to be resolved. Thoughts? -- Draco9904 (talk) 16:33, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

What reference did you find to determine the "correct" order. Generally we try to get order from the film credits and how cast is listed there. The cast list generally follows the order of the starring actors listed in the infobox with additional actors added based on end credit order. Listing in order of importance based on editor opinion is original research and is discouraged. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:52, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
As a single line per actor list with character names, alphabetical order is reasonable as well. No real reason to change it. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:20, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Reference for alternative title in lead

edit

An edit here removed the alternative title meaning its inclusion was challenged and indicating that it is contentious. I added it back here with a reference because of that removal. WP:CITELEAD does not prohibit references in the lead section, suggests references for info likely to be challenged, but leaves it up to article editor consensus. Oops. I just did a span edit over that, so I only saw your ref addition, not the removal of the title. Ref is fine then, though we can probably use the one of the ones we already have in the article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:01, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Weird tone/ overemphasis

edit

Lines like "causing him to be abusively humiliated", "causing... the students to selfishly look down upon him once more", and "thus becoming unpopular again, and, once again, aggressively put down by everyone else", and "thus, finally, making it up to him for their previous actions of selfishness and rude behavior towards him" seem to carry a strange emphatic weight, almost as if added by some kind of masochist or someone who themselves feels hard-done-by in their group of friends. These lines are at the very least rather jarring in the context of the body of the article! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.234.181 (talk) 00:20, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
