Plot conclusion error?

I just finished watching the film and am now confused by this line in the Plot Summary section:

The pianist starts teaching Mùi to read and write as well as comport herself as a lady. A pregnant Mùi reads poetry to her husband, her unborn child, and the wife of her original household.

Where does that last bit come from? I reversed through the final scenes and never saw the older woman. There is one moment that shows a woman lying down, but it appears to be a different shot of Mùi (no gray hair, same distinctive smile). --Pergish1 (talk) 03:02, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

Plot corrections (I think!)

When the husband leaves for his fourth and final time, he steals his wife's meagre savings and jewelry. He returns ill and dies shortly thereafter, and the wife sells an heirloom vase to pay for his medical and funeral expenses.

We just saw this (lovely!) picture. It was certainly the grandmother, not the absent husband, who became ill. You hear the sound of someone falling; then you see the mother from behind, kneeling and weeping. The next shot is a closeup of her hand holding the grandmother's upturned, motionless hand, which still holds her prayer beads. There are then some scenes of the doctor treating the grandmother—not the husband, as far as I could tell.
A photo of the husband eventually appears on the shrine along with those of the other dead relatives (including the grandmother), so I assumed they were implying they'd heard of his death. But as far as I know, he didn't appear again after his earlier exit.
I'm going to modify the Plot section accordingly. If I've overlooked something, though, feel free to fix, and sorry for the trouble. – AndyFielding (talk) 11:36, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
