Copyedit from Crisco
editThis copyedit will be a little too in-depth to allow me to comment at the FAC, so I'll leave comments here. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:50, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Indicate who Alex Krycek is in the lede
- in the mass extinctions that had happened millions of years ago. - This is poorly written, but I can't think of an alternative right now.
- Fox Mulder (David Duchovny)'s mother - Who?
- re-activated - How can exposure be reactivated?
- the two sleep together. - Just sleep?
- Mulder, meanwhile, is reunited with his sister Samantha (Megan Leitch) in his new life. Mulder is revealed to be dreaming everything; in reality he is in a government facility being tended to by doctors while The Smoking Man and Fowley watch. Scully, who claims that she does not know where he is, meets with Fowley later. Mulder's dreams continues: he marries Fowley and they have children. The years go by quickly and he is now old and Fowley is dead. In reality The Smoking Man is preparing to have Mulder's genetic material—which caused Mulder to become telepathic in the first place—implanted into him. He believes that Mulder has become an alien-human hybrid and that by taking his genetic material, he will be able to survive the coming alien onslaught. - This paragraph is a mess. Perhaps separate the Mulder and Scully bits to avoid confusing people.
- Whose apartment, Fowley's or Scully's?
- Duchovny worked on the script while Carter wrote the preceding episode, "The Sixth Extinction". Carter eventually added the remaining portions of the script after his work on the previous episode had concluded. - This should probably be added after the discussion of their co-writing. This paragraph has all been about Christ = but =/= Mulder.
- Anderson later stated that she had trouble with her lines in the episode. She noted: "There were a couple times when I put in a call to [Carter saying] 'I don't know if I can do this anymore.' How can I be arguing against all this when in the last episode we shot this other storyline happened?" Carter explained that, in order for the show's dynamics to work "you've got to have the conflict between the two characters". - She had trouble believing the dialogue, or...? Could trim some quotes perhaps.
- LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTs of quotes which could be trimmed or reworded.
- That's it for now, more later. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:09, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- "The ramifications of Mulder's illness and recovery from his brain injury would be explored in the eighth season opening arc "Within" and "Without", as well as the mid-season entry "The Gift", where it is revealed that Mulder's ordeal caused him to develop an inoperable brain tumor." - This may be best as a footnote, as it's not entirely pertinent to this episode.
- where [Mulder and Scully haven't kissed] - Should this be in square brackets or no?
- I guess that's it. These are my edits. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:27, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Writing credits
editUnder Writing it is said that Duchovny got credits for "season four's Talitha Cumi"... while that is the finale of season 3. I edited it.
- Thanks for the catch!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 16:09, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
