Hey, I'm going to be reviewing this article. Expect comments by the end of the week. Some Dude From North Carolinawanna talk?

Infobox and lead

edit
  • The poster only credits Mark Yoshikawa as an editor, so I would move him to the top, and add references for the others.
  • The claim that the film stars "Tye Sheridan in his debut feature film role" needs a reference.
  • Don't link Texas or Earth per WP:OVERLINK since most people know what both those places are.
  • Are all the references in the second paragraph necessary? Can they be moved to other sections?
  • Couldn't find any mention of the "2012 Sight & Sound critics' poll of the world's top 250 films" in this archive.
  • In this section and in others, change the uses of The Associated Press to the Associated Press.

Plot

edit
  • "Milky Way and then" → "Milky Way, and then"
  • "Sea life" → "Sealife"
  • "music, and tries" → "music and tries"

Cast

edit
  • To be consistent, change the uses of parathesis to either "(aged #)" or "(age #)", and decide whether to add them before or after a name.

Production

edit

Development

edit
  • "In the late 1970s, Malick" → "In the late 1970s, Terrence Malick"
  • "1 million dollars" → "$1 million"
  • "Decades later, Terrence Malick" → "Decades later, Malick"
  • The reference after "about the idea" isn't working.
  • Is the quote parameters in the references after "financing the film" and "early stage" necessary?
  • Link Brad Pitt.
  • A reference is needed for the claim that "Heath Ledger was set to play the role of Mr. O'Brien".
  • Combine the last two paragraphs in this section into one.
  • The sentence "In an October 2008 interview Jack Fisk" needs rewording.
  • The last sentence in this section needs rewording.

Filming

edit
  • The reference after "Texas in 2008" isn't working.
  • Don't cite IMDb per WP:IMDB and WP:IMDBREF.
  • The reference after "Locations included Smithville" is a blog, so it should be replaced.
  • The reference after "Bastrop, Austin" isn't working.
  • The reference after "Dallas" isn't working.
  • The reference after "Waco" isn't working.
  • The reference after "outside Smithville" is also a blog.
  • Are four references for the claim about the "65,000-pound tree"?
  • Is the entire quote from Brad Pitt necessary, and why do the quotation marks stop randomly?
  • This section as a whole should be reworded.

Editing

edit
  • This section is compiled of mostly just quotes and needs rewording.
  • What is the point of the last sentence?

Visual effects

edit
  • What is the purpose of the first paragraph? Can it be reworded?
  • Once again, this section is made up of mostly quotes. Can they be removed? Can this section be merged with #Editing into #Post-production?

Themes

edit

Philosophical

edit
  • Combine the last three paragraphs into one.

Nature and grace

edit
  • Why is one paragraph just quotes, and why do the quotation marks stop randomly?

Autobiographical

edit
  • This section is almost entirely made up of quotes. (I might have to fail this article for overusing quotes like Get Out was failed in 2019).

References

edit
  • Archive all archivable sources (I recommend using this).
  • Link each website used in every single citation.
  • Mark references from Vulture with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from The New York Times with "|url-access=limited".

Other stuff

edit
  • Make sure most sentences are in past-tense.
  • The images in #Filming and #Visual_effects are incredibly small, so are they necessary?
  • Change the uses of "..." to "[...]" per consistency with other GA-articles.

Discussion

edit
Some Dude From NC, nominator Pineapple4321 has not edited Wikipedia since January 25, when they added the note to the nomination about not being able to respond the week of (after?) January 29. No idea when or if they might return. You might want to consider closing the nomination if they don't return soon. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:36, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
