The result of the move request was: moved. Trans-atlantic Tunnel will continue to redirect here as I see no consensus that it should be retargeted, however there should be no prejudice against starting a RfD on where it should point to. Jenks24 (talk) 12:43, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Trans-atlantic Tunnel → The Tunnel (1935 film) –
- Moving to the correct first name, not the re-named version for an overseas market SchroCat (talk) 06:18, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Which is the best known of these 2 titles? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:40, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- According to the BFI database, this British film is called The Tunnel. Alternative titles for overseas broadcast include Transatlantic Tunnel (or Trans-atlantic Tunnel). - SchroCat (talk) 06:59, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- My renaming of the external links has nothing to do with this discussion. Those are the titles at those places. And the Richard Dix site too. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:22, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Not quite: the IMDB link is to The Tunnel. It still doesn't deflect from the fact that the correct name of this British film is The Tunnel, which was subsequently renamed for a foreign audience. -SchroCat (talk) 08:34, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Your reality distortion field is not as strong as Steve Job's was. The IMDb title is "Transatlantic Tunnel". Below it in a smaller font size and not in bold is "The Tunnel (original title)". Like I said before, this is not about the proposed page move one way or the other, merely about the accuracy of how links to other pages are titled. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:09, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- No need for the personal gibe, and the main header title I see at the page is "The Tunnel (1935)". Much further down the page, under the Details section is "Also Known As: Transatlantic Tunnel See more »". The accurate page link would therefore be The Tunnel, I think, regardless of the page move. If you'd like a screen shot of the top of the page I'd be happy to oblige. - SchroCat (talk) 09:31, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Well then, it appears IMDb displays differently depending on the viewer's location. How do the others look? Clarityfiend (talk) 00:50, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
Just in addition to the BFI link above, a quick skim of the literature supports the original name of the film as The Tunnel, and it is the original name which should take precedence.

Hard copy versions of Gifford's British Film Catalogue and Halliwell's film, video & DVD guide also list the title as The Tunnel, with the foreign market title shown in the film description. - SchroCat (talk) 20:08, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
- Support the current title "trans-atlantic Tunnel" should just redirect to the concept transatlantic tunnel article -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 22:08, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Support. The current title is misleading. The title should make it obvious that the subject covered by the article is fiction. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 21:24, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

other versions
editLe Tunnel (1935 film) and Der Tunnel (1935 film) should be created, since the novel article states that all three were filmed on the same sets, but with different actors and directors... so there were three films as one, and three films separate. An overarching The Tunnel (1935 film series) should also exist to cover the linkages. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 22:19, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
