Release date
editThis is silly. I've seen the film. How can it be unreleased if I've seen the film and written a plot about it? Per MOS:FILM and WP:FILMRELEASE, the film has been released. Any public viewing is a release. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:36, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- I also endorse using the video-on-demand release date. Being available on DVD does not make it more official than being available to rent/buy digitally, especially considering that film festivals count as "official" release despite limited availability. If it was leaked to be pirated, that would be unofficial and not count. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:48, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Hello, I'm sorry for changing it, I was just going by the poster art release, and the original press release article, I will change it back to January 19. Vmars22 (talk) 20:59, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- That's alright! Posters probably don't always apply. Sometimes movies come out at festivals before they have posters, and when they have posters, it will state the commercial theatrical release rather than the festival screening. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 21:21, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, release dates can be very confusing at times, especially when the plans change. You get one source that says "January 1" and another that says "January 10", and there's no easy way to tell which one actually happened. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:26, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, exactly, I was confused, because one article talked about just a plan VOD/DVD release of February 2, and then the Universal website, says January 19, so it was quite confusing. But, glad this was all cleared up :) Vmars22 (talk) 22:33, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Jonestown
editWas thinking this should be mentioned somewhere as the movie borrows from the event (even actual dialog taken from Jim Jones himself). As far as a reliable source is concerned I don't know if this would even be disputed. -- Ϫ 15:43, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- I guess nobody ever really got around to writing a reception section. I can do that. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:01, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
