See Fred E. Basten, In Glorious Technicolor (Easton Studio Press, 2005), and Richard W. Haines, Technicolor Movies: The History of Dye Transfer Printing (McFarland & Company, 2003). I have removed the claim that The Viking did not do well because it lacked dialogue.
