One thing I'd look at is all the awards that are referenced by IMDB. We shouldn't use IMDb as source for facts - if you can find better sources, please replace them. Lugnuts ^{Dick Laurent is dead} 10:07, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

Good work. The plot was a bit long though, so I've moved the "general summary" to the lead and condensed the material a bit. Just so you know, plot summaries should be written in present tense and don't need citations, although I've left them in for now. Hmm, I arranged the awards randomly.. With the exception of the first two; the esteemed Academy Awards and the two BAFTAS. I didn't consider arranging them alphabetically since you can click on the top of the column and it would do it by itself. Makeandtoss (talk) 01:12, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

I don't think the article is ready for GA, sorry. But I'm pretty sure it's DYK eligible - it's not an area I'm experienced in, but it says in the criteria: "the prose portion has been expanded fivefold or more within the past seven days". On 14 Jan, this version before you started editing, it was 144 words of readable prose; it's now 1540 words. So it's been expanded tenfold. As far as I know you'll be fine (as long as everything is sourced, and you should those bare urls). Get the nomination in today though to meet the "seven days" criteria. DYK says "the prose portion". It talks about being at least 1500 characters long, but that's different from measuring the growth (for which it just says "prose"). And besides, if you've expanded the word count by ten then you must have expanded the characters by at least five?! "Btw, Great Arab Revolt took months and not an eve" - this doesn't make sense; "eve" just means "right before". I've read in several reviews that the film takes place as the issues were brewing and then the revolt kicked in. Plus the Middle East was involved in WW1 before that, and the Arab Revolt was just one element, so you can't write "also known as". I heard Nowar give a Q&A for the film and I'm sure he said he spent much of his life in the UK (Oxford, I think). He moved back and forth. He was deemed "British" by the BAFTAs, anyway. I just think it's worth clarifying that he brought an "outsiders" perspective (he was both an "insider" and "outsider", but I'm sure he had more reason to be fascinated by the Bedouins than the average Jordanian). --Loeba (talk) 19:39, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

WP:WIADYK "The length of both the old and new versions of the article is calculated based on prose character count, not word count." The Great Arab Revolt lasted two years and had many events and battles, one of which was the failed attack on the railway. My mistake concerning Nowar, "Nowar was born in Oxford, England, and lived there until his family returned to Jordan when he was 10. You seem to be resisting nominating it, but I'm sure you've expanded it by at least five times (and there's nothing to lose in at least trying, other than someone saying "Actually, it hasn't grown enough"). But hey it's up to you. Well maybe the film takes place during the Revolt but at least write that rather than "also known as" because they aren't equivalent. Look at Middle Eastern theatre of World War I and it mentions many conflicts besides the Arab revolt. Perhaps "in the wake of the Arab Revolt" would be the best way to phrase it since 1916 is when it kicked off. --Loeba (talk) 19:57, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

That says they only want new articles, which isn't true anymore because they now allow for GAs (no matter how long the article already exisyed). And I don't really see the relevance anyway. I'm just confused by this because you said "it would be really great if this shows up on DYK", and the article is definitely 5x expanded (if you're hung-up on character count, 140 words to 1500 words must be like 900 characters to 12000 characters - way more than 5x). It seems to me that you should definitely go for your goal, you deserve that after the effort. @Dr. Blofeld: you know a lot about DYK - would the article meet the criteria? --Loeba (talk) 22:22, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Language

The article says only that the language is Arabic, nothing about subtitles or dubbing in other languages. At the very least it would be good to know if anyone has done a dubbed version in (at least) English. Vaughan Pratt (talk) 14:17, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
