editThis is nature's strangest-looking canid, yet there is no photograph currently on the page demonstrating this. As shown here. — Muckapedia (talk) 14e mai 2013 8h59 (−4h)

Photo again
editThis article really needs a photograph of this highly distinctive animal, can anyone provide? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:543:C001:FE13:B904:6BD1:6C35:C316 (talk) 03:35, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Common name
editHi, User:William Harris: as is evident by the referenced sources, most authors referred to it with the common name Tibetan fox, except Pocock (1941). I therefore suggest moving the page to Tibetan fox. What do you think? -- BhagyaMani (talk) 11:41, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hello BhagyaMani, I fully concur with you. I do not believe that one reference using this name nearly 80 years ago is valid as a "commoname" today. Wozencraft also refers to it as "Tibetan sand fox" on page 584 of MSW3, however he was following on from Pocock. Google Books shows the two forms are used equally, I prefer the simplicity of the name "Tibetan fox". William Harris talk 11:49, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Then I think we can also delete the 2nd paragraph after the move, and replace it by some more meaningful info, e.g. summarising content provided in the other sections. -- BhagyaMani (talk) 11:54, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- I tried moving, but the page named 'Tibetan fox' already exists. So it will be necessary to use Requested moves to ask for the page to be moved. Do you want to do that? Or shall we wait a day or so for others to comment? -- BhagyaMani (talk) 12:00, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- I was just about to say the same thing you posted first. I will propose a move below. William Harris talk 12:02, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
Move Tibetan sand fox→Tibetan fox
editHello, please see the conversation in the section directly above. We propose moving "Tibetan sand fox" to simply "Tibetan fox", and seek other editors views over the next 7 days. William Harris talk 12:04, 19 June 2020 (UTC) + BhagyaMani (talk) 12:05, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support Clearly the most widely used name and no ambiguity. Seems the page was originally Tibetan fox and got moved for consistency with MSW3 (see top of talk page). — Jts1882 | talk 12:17, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Technical move now complete. William Harris talk 02:19, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- The page will hopefully grow now. -- BhagyaMani (talk) 06:38, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
