Publishing of the show "Live"

The show where Tig openly talks about her cancer was published through Louis CK's site on 6 Oct 2012.

Nickname / name

"Tig Notaro is an American stand-up comic. "Tig" is a nickname..."

Based on a search through Intelius.com, it appears that her birth name is "Mathilde O. Notaro," although I can't find what the "O" stands for. One listing makes it appear that it may stand for "Oc." It also doesn't say where the name Notaro came from. Was that her name at birth? If so, this should be made clear.

Also, giving her mother's name at the time of her birth as the last name she had after she remarried is as confusing as this sentence describing it.

Please sign your posts with four tildes (~) so it's clear who is writing what.

I updated the mom's name at the time of her birth. I'm not sure if this is helpful or more confusing.

I looked everywhere for her father's first name. Her father's surname is Notaro -- that's where Tig's last name comes from.

This seems to be an issue with a lot of folks who have parents who remarry, etc. I don't find it all that confusing, but would like feedback from other editors if they have opinions either way. BrillLyle (talk) 18:20, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Midway through the article it's said that she was invited to perform on NPR's "This American Life."

Tig's birthday is March 24th, 1971. On her live album "Good One" at the :45 second mark of the 14th track "The Show's Over" a woman says "Happy Birthday" and the crowd sings to her (twice). Tig announces she is 40. In the liner notes the date of the recording is March 24th, 2011.

Article says "It turned out she had a serious disease called C-DIFF, a sometimes fatal condition where one's intestinal tract gets eaten by the infection.". This is inaccurate. "C Diff" is the short name for "Clostridium difficile colitis". The colitis associated with severe infection is part of an inflammatory reaction to the toxins produced by the bacteria. The infection does not 'eat' the intestinal tract. Clostridium difficile is present in most healthy people; when the natural flora of other bacteria are wiped out by antibiotics for example, C. difficile is able to thrive in much greater numbers, leading to significantly increased concentration of the toxins which cause a severe immune reaction from the host. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.14.174.245 (talk) 12:24, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

I don't have much of a medical background so whatever information is here it would be most welcome if someone who knows more (like you) could update this. I agree that this paragraph needs fixing. Not only is the C-Diff name incorrect, as well as the description of that condition, but she also developed cancer at about this time, so it is unclear (to me, without further researching her background and circumstances, timeline) what was the progression of events. In addition, I believe that the listed reference is either outdated or simply does not suffice as a proper reference for the material in this paragraph. This will take a considerable amount of time to fix, so I cannot do this myself right now, but I will try to get back here to do this if no one else takes up the challenge. Thanks. Edit Request - Recent not recent

This is supposed to be an encyclopedia, the concept of recent is nonsense if you think in terms of an encyclopedia. Recent is a vague unhelpful time word that should be avoided in an encyclopedia but this basic mistake happens endlessly. Please remove the nonsense uses of "recent" in this article. If necessary specify when, but in most cases the word can simply be removed. E.g.
