Zone map
editThe map in the upper right has the time zones reversed. The far North of Idaho, in blue, observes UTC-8 (PLT, actually UTC-8 late fall and most of winter, UTC-7 late winter to early fall) and the South, in magenta, observes MLT (UTC-7 late fall and most of winter, UTC-6 late winter to early fall).
- Nice catch :) Fixed. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 10:48, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
The colors agree with the WP time zone colors, but the legend was wrong. I removed the legend and added it as free text, which allows linking of the UTC zones. Royaume du Maroc (talk) 12:34, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- OK. My image is still there, though, and should be removed. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 13:32, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
I uploaded a smaller one to commons:File:UTC_hue4map_USA-ID.svg. Royaume du Maroc (talk) 20:00, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Zone map has three colors. Only two are identified for the time zone. What is the zone for the purple color and why is that area a different color? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bcostley (talk • contribs) 15:23, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Zone description
editI'm not crazy about the addition of (standard time: UTC-08:00) after Pacific Time Zone because it might lead to confusion about whether DST is observed. Also, I don't care too much about the exact language but it would be nice if we settled on something and then used it consistently in these articles instead of re-editing each other. I'm gone for a few days to let things settle. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 13:32, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- It may remove confusion, since before it linked to Pacific Time, a dab page. The UTC offset values clarifies which zone is closer to UTC. I used the term "standard time" in front of UTC-08:00 to not give the impression that the Pacific Time Zone observes UTC-08:00 all year round. Royaume du Maroc (talk) 13:46, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
