Film credit verification

edit

IMDB.com credits Mae Whitman as the voice of Tinker Bell, not Brittany Murphy.

Does anyone have any info on if Brittany Murphy has been replaced or not, I have not heard information on that and IMDb isn't always the most reliable source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.72.77.223 (talk) 04:15, 28 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oddly placed

edit

I think this paragraph:

"Because of the controversies surrounding Tinker Bell, Disney has announced that no more straight-to-DVD sequels will be produced with The Little Mermaid III being the last one.[7] Although they have proven to be big money-makers for Disney and also very popular with their target demographic (children and their parents), the straight-to-DVD sequels have received a lot of backlash. Critics and purists have branded them "cheapquels" with many claiming that they are inferior and unnecessary. Some, John Lasseter included, have expressed disgust and feel that Disney has become more concerned with making a quick buck rather than maintaining the integrity of their earlier classics."

Doesn't belong in this article. Maybe an article on cheapquels themselves is called for. In spite of the claim in the first sentence it isn't clear how cheapquels relate to the topic of the article.--MTHarden 22:40, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Fairies

edit

The fairies are in different groups these groups are:

Water fairies - the water fairies are good with water. They put the dew drops on spider webs, with their steady, fast hands.

Animal fairies - animal fairies are good with animals, the animals trust them and accept their help. In the film the animal fairies teaches baby birds to fly.

Garden fairies - garden fairies are good with plans. The plant bulbs and flowers, so they bloom accordingly.

Light fairies - they create rainbows and can change the direction of light.

Winter fairies - the winter faired freeze the air, and make the snow.

Fast fairies - the fast fairies fly fast and can control wind. In the film we see her making a small tornado, pollinating flowers.

Tinker fairies - Tinker fairies build and fix things, they tinker. In the film we see them make pots and things for the nature fairies. They do the behind the scene work for the changing of seasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nadinerater (talkcontribs) 20:58, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Music fairies - The fairies that play music for all of Pixie Hollow.

Art fairies - The artists of Pixie Hollow.

Dust Keeper fairies - The fairies who hand out your amount of pixie dust.

Storm fairies - The fairies who create storms.

Sequals

edit

Is it true that there will be 3 DTV sequals to this film? Disney annoced that this and TLM 3 were to be the last sequals. So why are they continuing this film if they can't make more "cheapquals"?65.0.181.111 (talk) 16:42, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid that it is true. There is a press release with proof. - Jasonbres (talk) 17:06, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well,if it is then why did they say this was their last sequal? And will there be more sequals like Jungle Book 2 & Return to Neverland? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.0.181.111 (talk) 21:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Technically, this isn't a sequel. It's a spinoff. At the time, they were considering Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning to be their last sequel, but I'm guessing that after the last Tinker Bell sequel, Cars 2 and Toy Story 3, there won't be any sequels unless there is demand for sequels by the general public. - Jasonbres (talk) 21:51, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
The main question has been whether Disney would make cheap direct to video sequels for theatrical feature films. There's less opposition within the company to sequels that are "done right" (i.e. a good story, full production budget, theatrical release, etc). The fact that they've already spent so much money on this one is probably why it's being finished made... and later sequels to a movie that's only released on DVD in the first place (like this one) don't upset the sequel-haters the same way. As for what will actually happen... it's not appropriate to speculate here. - JasonAQuest (talk) 12:50, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:12822 tinkerbell.JPG

edit

Image:12822 tinkerbell.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Music" section

edit

This needs to be rewritten. It reads like a press release. JuJube (talk) 22:55, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's because it was a press release (copied verbatim from the cited source). I've removed the offending material. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 23:41, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

But, The movie takes place before the great fire that destroyed the pixie dust tree, after the fire mother dove was discovered that she was the only thing that could make pixie dust, and that's why there's no "pixie dust tree" in the books because they take place after the fire —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.31.86.128 (talk) 17:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Differences between this film and the Disney Fairies series" section

edit

There is an error in this section. In the universe of the books, the Pixie Dust Tree did exist but was destroyed in a battle. The fairies then had to find Mother Dove to create Pixie Dust. (I got my information from the book "In the Realm of the Never Fairies: The Secret World of Pixie Hollow", page 64, ISBN number: 078684765-4) I know this is additional to -SineBot's information, I just wanted to add the reference information.

The text

The score to the film was composed by Joel McNeely, who recorded the music with an 88-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony at the Sony Scoring Stage.[13]

Planned improvements, disclosure

edit

I am going to begin making improvements to this article shortly. I believe they will be entirely uncontroversial but, in keeping with Wikipedia's coflict of interest advisory, I want to disclose that Disney is a client of my employer. They are aware of my plans for this page, although the work is entirely my own. I probably will have suggestions that may involve more careful value judgments, and in those cases I will seek community input before making such changes. If you have any questions about my edits, please don't hesitate to be in touch here or on my Talk page. Cheers, NMS Bill (talk) 15:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

On about the 4th of 5th paragraph of the plot, the first sentence is "as a last resort, Tinkerbell asks Vidia for help on being a garden fairy" but Vidia is a fast flying fairy so it has been typed wrong.

82.40.191.187 (talk) 08:18, 7 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, that's correct. It doesn't say that Vidia is a garden fairy, only that Tinkerbell asks her for help. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 13:56, 7 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

TinkerBell?

edit

Her name is always so close together it looks like "TinkerBell". Also, if it's two separate names why is she always more often than not called Tinker Bell as if is one name? -- Anythingspossibleforapossible (talk) 02:37, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
