The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic. This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more trans women. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it doesn't match what's most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Some people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBTQ+ WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard. |
Selling his house?
editHow notable is it for us that he sold his house?! --Zeitungsente0815 (talk) 07:17, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
Pronoun
editDorfman has stated publicly that, although he is non-binary, he does not have a preferred pronoun [1], and all the news coverage and interviews I've found use "he": so I'm going to revert back to doing so here as well. Cheers, gnu57 21:56, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Change “early and education” to “early life and education” 98.43.182.123 (talk) 11:01, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
Image change
editMaybe the photo should also be updated to reflect her coming out as a woman Azuresky Voight (talk) 16:18, 23 July 2021 (UTC) Agreed. And the caption "Dorfman in 2018, before transitioning to be a woman" is really offensive to be honest. She was always a woman.
ya i think its stupid they put that picture instead of the other ones with her hair more grown out Arsynsworld (talk) 02:42, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
I have contacted Ms. Dorfman’s agent to request a more recent picture be licensed for use on Wikipedia. I will update the image and caption as soon as I have received the necessary legal documentation. 李艾连 (talk) 20:15, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
You guys absolutely need to change this photo! it's incredibly offensive, use any other picture.

Please change main photo to one of the ones after transition. 176.221.122.233 (talk) 16:54, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- Not done for now We can only use images of living people that have been freely licensed. I agree if a more recent post-transition photo becomes available we should use it in preference to the current one, but there currently aren't any. Sorry. Hemiauchenia (talk) 17:01, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

change the photo to one of tommy as a woman, right now you have a photo of her when she was presenting as male from 2018. it's transphobic and offensive. also, update her filmography: she's in lena dunham's newest movie, sharp stick.
thanks! Tcd13 (talk) 21:42, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- No, it is not transphobic. And unless you can present a free picture of Dorfman as of 2022, there's nothing to do about. Filmography updated. (CC) Tbhotch™ 22:01, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- For this guy, and the subsequent fans of Dorfman claiming it's transphobic to put a picture of how she looked like in 2018: "Transphobia is a collection of ideas and phenomena that encompass a range of negative attitudes, feelings, or actions towards transgender people or transness in general". It's quite ironic you come to an encyclopedia and rant about your feelings on trans issues without properly understanding the meaning of words. And even more ironic is that you want to tell Dorfman what she has to look like. Tommy Dorfman is still the same person, but your transphobia (i.e. your "collection of ideas") is that Dorfman can't look masculine anymore and must look feminized. In the “personal life” section, it should be noted that she now identifies as a lesbian (source: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLqqH9So/) 142.55.3.12 (talk) 01:22, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Jack Frost (talk) 01:39, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
Image
editPlease update the image to align with what she looks like now. The picture is old and shows her before she came out as trans woman. 2607:F2C0:E63A:87:CD0B:4862:E66A:9D80 (talk) 19:14, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- Dorfman's team was contacted months ago and they were requested a free picture. They have not replied since then. (CC) Tbhotch™ 19:29, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
Move request
editApparently she goes by the name Tammy now, so I think the page should be moved to reflect that. RteeeeKed💬📖 21:44, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- @RteeeeKed: Do you have any source for the name change? I took a quick look and couldn't find any mention of it. Cheers, gnu57 00:33, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oh you're right nevermind then RteeeeKed💬📖 00:35, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

He is an actor not an actress. This is suppose to state facts not delusions. Genetics is non debatable. How someone feels or sees themselves is not facts. 2600:1002:B013:A792:EDA0:1BC6:7E0C:6C20 (talk) 14:50, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
