Is this paragraph relevant?
editThis paragraph leaves me scratching my head: "In 1985, a producer from the TV show Family Ties was in the audience to hear the band Billy Vera and The Beaters play "At This Moment". It was aired in the fall of 1985 as a backdrop for romantic interludes between characters Alex (Michael J. Fox) and Ellen (Tracy Pollan)."
It seems pretty tenuously related to the subject of the article, especially when the article is currently so short.

I just read the article and was coming here to post the same thing but you beat me to it. My reaction when I read it was Huh?
That paragraph belongs in the Family Ties article. I'm removing it.--70.157.42.133 (talk) 01:37, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Oscars 2017?
editUnless she was a presenter or performer (I checked and there is no indication of this), is there any actual notability to her having attended the Oscars that justifies it being listed in her filmography? Listing an appearance based on the fact they were in the audience sound pretty mundane. If she'd attended a televised NFL game and got caught on camera sitting in the stands, would that be listed too? 136.159.160.5 (talk) 19:44, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
Sister of Michael Pollan
editThe fact that she is the sister of Michael Pollan is noteworthy and should be in the article. ---Dagme (talk) 14:46, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
Born Date ?
editThe article is missing her birth date. I found this through a simple google search but I don't know the original source so I did not edit the article. Born: June 22, 1960, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.184.67.93 (talk) 11:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for not adding it. Please see my comments below about the need for proper sourcing of a date of birth. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:07, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
General content overview
editAnyone else find the format of this profile a little…odd? There are a lot of opinion-based lines, it’s things like “she is an accomplished actor”, “her father is very supportive”, “her and Michael are great parents”. There are also separate sections labelled “Parents” and “Kids” which you would normally file under “Early Life” and “Personal Life”. Does this maybe need to be revised? 2A02:C7C:709F:AB00:C10F:ABFE:35EE:66CB (talk) 10:54, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
More re date of birth
editI have again removed an unsourced date of birth from this article (as I did on May 13). WP:BLPPRIVACY is clear that "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, . . .". The only way to demonstrate such publication is to support the date with an appropriate citation.
In the case of this article, placement of the date made it appear to be sourced to Stephen Pollan's obituary in The New York Times. Unfortunately the cited article does not mention when Tracy Pollan was born, which made the recently added date unsourced.
I should add that WP:BLPPRIMARY excludes using public documents for a date of birth for a living person. Therefore we need a published, credible non-primary source for her date of birth. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:06, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
