Deletion request

G-13114, Into oblivion, BoyTheKingCanDance, Onel5969 and PLATEL. I requested that this page be deleted due to insufficient reliable sources. The sources used on this page are currently The Canary, the party's official website, and the Morning Star. Of these sources according to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, The Canary is regarded as generally unreliable, so there goes two citations. The Morning Star has a status of "No consensus" in regards to its reliability and while first party sources can be used, they are certainly not preferable. Therefore, we don't have a single reliable source for this article. G-13114 removed my deletion request saying "rmv deletion tag, ridiculous to expect massive coverage when it's only just begun", of which I strongly disagree with. The party has been officially established for over a month, but it posted a YouTube video and has had its official website established for over 6 months. It was also reported on by The Canary over 6 months ago, see A group wants to form a new party to ‘transform’ politics after Keir Starmer’s betrayal of the left. This is beside the point anyway. The page needs reliable third-party coverage before article creation, not after. Until that happens the article should be deleted. What has currently been established can be saved as a temple in someone’s Sandbox or whatever is most convenient. Helper201 (talk) 23:40, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

The RS page is outdated, an RFC in 2019, decided categorically that the Morning Star could be used as a source on Wikipedia. G-13114 (talk) 23:55, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, but that's still only one third-party citation and nowhere near enough to establish this article. Helper201 (talk) 22:34, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
If the Transform party is registered with the electoral commision, which it is, it is certainly reliable to consider that it is an active UK political party. Additional information may require additional citation, but deletion of the page does not seem a legitimate outcome. 82.36.71.201 (talk) 16:20, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
