Profession
There's a new editor who seems to think that the lede should list every job that Trevor Noah has done, as "what he's famous for". I think it should be a shorter list spotlighting just the handful of things that he is actually famous for. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 21:31, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'd like to add that the citation on the end of that sentence does not contain that laundry list, or even say that much about his resumé. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 21:32, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Controversy
How about a word or two on the alleged joke-thievery by Mr. Noah? Case details plus comments on comedians' social norms here: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/10/arts/television/daily-show-trevor-noah-controversy-twitter.html?_r=0 217.78.6.205 (talk) 05:58, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Influences
The two Influences parameters were deprecated for the overall WP:BIOGRAPHY infobox, Infobox person. They are therefore deprecated for all subordinate infoboxes under them. An editor who has been here since March 22 is making infobox edits against this consensus. I have restored the infobox to the consensus version, putting "Influences" as its own section. --Tenebrae (talk) 14:21, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- But comedians pages have influences in their infoboxes. (McQueen.30 (talk) 16:51, 9 April 2015 (UTC))
- Please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. As for the infobox comedian template, that's a clerical issue simply because no admin's gotten around to updating the template: There are dozens if not more than a hundred profession templates under the master template Infobox person and admins haven't gotten to all of them yet. If you're going to continue to edit-war, then we're going to get admin intervention. Being on Wikipedia for less than a month and edit-warring, going against WP:BIO consensus and getting admins involved for your actions is not a good start to being a Wikipedia editor. --Tenebrae (talk) 14:18, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
- Influences/influenced in infobox has been deprecated at Template talk:Infobox comedian#Request for comment, with overwhelming consent after 30 days. --Tenebrae (talk)
- To the anon IP who refuses to accept the WP:SNOWBALL consensus at the RfC because there's a backlog at WP:Requests for closure: You are disrupting Wikipedia to make a point, and that is inappropriate. Accept the fact that the influences fields have been deprecated in the infobox. --Tenebrae (talk) 04:02, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

In the personal life section please change "Xhosa" to "isiXhosa" as that is the name of the language, just as isiZulu is the name of the Zulu language. 92.24.164.13 (talk) 02:00, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Not done: From what I understand, isiXhosa is the Xhosa name for Xhosa. If this were the Xhosa Wikipedia, then I would agree with making that change, but this is the English Wikipedia, and therefore the English name for Xhosa will be used. Cannolis (talk) 02:22, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Occupation
No one has disputed whether Noah has written or produced anything. They are things he has done, but they have never been his primary occupation, so they don't belong in the opening sentence. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 22:13, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Star at 18?
I'm a Trevor Noah fan who just read his autobiographical book in which he describes himself at age 18 as hustling precariously on the street on the edges of the music scene. He is described here as having a "starring role" in a TV show at 18. IMDB lists that role as "teenager at party (uncredited)" for a single episode. I suggest drop "starring" because it could cause someone to mistrust his autobiography, since hustling on the edge of poverty seems incompatible with being a TV star. The book is brilliant, it drove me to Wikipedia and I was alarmed to see something that could unnecessarily undercut its veracity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.169.148.245 (talk) 04:35, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
I agree. Having just finished his memoir, this was surprising news. And the Wikipedia article on Isidingo doesn't even mention Noah. So "starring" seems unwarranted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timwarner (talk • contribs) 07:12, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
Political Progressive
The page currently states that Trevor Noah has stated he is a political progressive. This isn't true however. The reference article does indeed quote him as saying that he is "a progressive person," but it never explicitly states that he is a political progressive. He has gone on the record stating that he is in fact not a political progressive. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/features/the-daily-show-s-trevor-noah-on-being-the-new-jon-stewart-people-have-a-right-to-not-like-me-a6714676.html http://www.indiewire.com/article/10-ways-the-daily-show-with-trevor-noah-aims-to-move-beyond-jon-stewart-20150927

I just rejected two pending edits to the article text which constituted a direct copy-and-paste of the "Trevor Noah Girlfriend" section of the linked page (which was cited as the source). I've already placed the appropriate user warning template on the talk page of the editor who added the text, but it looks like a revdel is warranted. (Note: Despite the name, Wiki South Africa does not appear to be a wiki, and claims content © at the bottom of every page. Controversy section
I have just added some more recent controversies of old jokes that Noah made earlier in his career (re: Aboriginal women and the Marikana massacre). I have added this to The Daily Show section since there was already a paragraph dedicated to controversies surrounding Noah, which emerged following his appointment at the head of the daily show.
However, I feel like there is enough content to merit a section dedicated to Controversy. Putting all controversies surrounding Noah from the past 5 years in The Daily Show section seems off topic as much of the controversy is surrounding old stand-up routines and tweets, not his work on The Daily Show itself Meangreenbeanmachine (talk) 09:30, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Parents
The early life section seems a bit confusing to me, or incomplete. Was his father a South African of Swiss-German descent whose family had been in the country for generations? Or a recent emigrant to South Africa from Switzerland? Totorotroll (talk) 08:50, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
"Trevor Noah was born on 20 February 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa.[12][13] His father, Robert, is of Swiss ancestry, and his mother, Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah, is of Xhosa ancestry. Following antisemitism accusations, Noah claimed that his mother converted to Judaism". Half information and crumbs are given. "Following antisemitism accusations". So someone is Jewish? but its left out who is? So his father is Jewish, or is this meant be kept secret?. Also how does an unknown person end up as a the host of an Amreican late night talk show, when they are barely know in North America?Starbwoy (talk) 17:41, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
YouTube video showing Noah editing his own article?
Although this video shows Noah logging in as User:ActuallyTrevorNoah and editing the words "That is correct" into the Early life section, I don't see any evidence of the user or the edit. GoingBatty (talk) 05:01, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
