editA caution needed on statistics:- if 1,000 homes in Jamaica damaged and 40,000 rendered homeless then must be 40 people per house which is improbable so statistics don't match. Perhaps 40,000 were merely displaced not homeless or perhaps one of the referenced materials is seriously in error? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.31.202.145 (talk) 12:20, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

- "Tracking generally northward, the depression passed west of Jamaica, but brought heavy rain to the island." - the part about heavy rainfall isn't necessary since you mention it in the opening sentence.
- "Initially, the depression was forecast to move northwestward at about 5 mph (8.0 km/h)." - Overly specific? :P Just say it was forecast to move slowly northwestward. Combine this sentence with the one after it.
- "Minimal intensification occurred, as satellite imagery, weather stations, and a reconnaissance aircraft indicated the depression remained below tropical storm status." - why?
- "Early on June 13, satellite imagery and weather radar showed heavy rainbands moving across Jamaica and eastern Cuba." - Why link satellite now considering you linked it in the first paragraph?
- "Due to land interaction with the two islands, further strengthening of the depression was not expected.[7] Around that time, the depression instead weakened slightly." - Combine.
- "Despite moving back over open waters, the depression failed to intensify further." - Unnecessary.
- Perhaps not, since it was noted a few sentences earlier that land interaction prevented intensification. – Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- " It degenerated into a remnant low pressure area about six hours later." - You didn't give a specific time in the preceding sentence, so I don't know what "six hours later" translates to.
- GC, can you figure out a landfall time? – Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- "Its remnants continued northeastward across the Southeastern United States, the Mid-Atlantic, and New England until dissipating fully on June 18." - Replace Southeastern USA/Mid Atlantic/New England with East Coast of the United States.
- I disagree. The US East Coast literally refers to the eastern coast (the threshold between land and sea). The remnants were predominately quite a ways inland from that threshold. – Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- "Sugar cane, which was already 70-80 percent harvested, suffered about $2.25 million in damage." --> "Crop losses as a result of sugar cane, which was already 70-80 percent harvested, totaled to approximately $2.25 million."
- ...srsly? :P It's better the way it is. (Sugar cane didn't cause crop losses, for instance.) – Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- "It was estimated that 4 million lbs (1.8 million kgs) of bananas were lost, equivalent to about $954,295." - We need a note for all these totals. US dollars or Jamaican dollars? 1979 USD?
- "An estimated 300 mi (480 km) of roads were impacted, with about 2,000 ft (610 m) of highway washed out." - Road should be singular, so were should be was.
- "The cities of Chigwell, Enfield, Exeter, and Leamington, New Market were all submerged during the flooding." - And should go after Leamington. Do any of these have wikilinks (I haven't checked)?
- "Following the storm, Hanover, Saint Elizabeth, Saint James, and Westmoreland parishes were considered a disaster area." - Disaster areas.
As usual, I'll pass once these comments have been addressed. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 22:01, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- I took care of almost everything (a few gripes have been posted above). A comment of my own... how did you determine that the missing person in SC was thought to have drowned? The NCDC document supports that the person was missing and classified as dead, but not the cause. – Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

- TropicalAnalystwx13, it's been a month since your above statement. If it hasn't been addressed by now, perhaps it's time to close the nomination as unsuccessful, or give the original nominator a set time in which to do so. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:01, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- The NCDC document lists one death directly above the event narrative.--12george1 (talk) 17:46, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- Since there's just the one tiny issue, i fixed it myself so this can be closed, which I'm doing now. Wizardman 04:30, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
