Please change this: his work of over 340 videos has over 270,000,000 views and over 5.4 million subscribers as of September 2014.[6][7]

To this: his work of over 350 videos has over 290,000,000 views and…close to 5.8 million subscribers as of November 2014. [2]

The original information is out of date.

Please change this: According to SocialBlade's Channel rating system, as of February 2014, Oakley's YouTube channel holds a grade A, with a subscriber rank of 90th, a video rank at 1,412th with a personal SocialBlade rating of 151st.[7]

As requested by Tyler in a Video

edit

Hey, this might sound a bit silly, but could you please change "He is also known for his appearance in that he regularly has brightly-colored hair.[2]" to 'He is also known for his appearance of brightly-colored hair and the reeling fact that his arm was bitten by the cannibal, Shia LaBeouf' because it would be an absolute honor for Tyler as he mentioned, "...it would be a great line in my wikipedia, and in his!", in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eSrztmvLTY&t=517

Thank you so much,

 ♥ Jazmine ♥

Category for discussion

edit

I believe, for many LGBT YouTubers, especially those who have found fame or increase fame through a coming out video, being an LGBT YouTuber is a defining characteristic, just like the Gay politicians or Gay writers category. However, a user has nominated the category LGBT YouTubers for deletion. [see the discussion here] AusLondonder (talk) 09:25, 24 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Matthew Tyler Oakley"

Real name is Matthew

edit

Not sure if there is a source for this yet but in Oakley's book Binge (released today) he reveals his first name is actually Matthew. His full name is Matthew Tyler Oakley. You can see the proof here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CRyJDJLWcAAraTw.jpg but I believe we have to wait for a source to post about his real name. Andise1 (talk) 20:25, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Is comes from his book, Binge. It is spelled Mathew with one T. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blakebonk (talkcontribs) 20:22, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bernie Sanders endorsement

edit

Should we add something about Oakley endorsing Bernie Sanders for President? I mean we have info about him singing Christmas Carols with 1D and Jerry Springer. Some of Sanders' endorsements articles such as Ronda Rousey have this information. Just curious. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 00:29, 9 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Whoops!

edit

Hello, I accidentally deleted some of the information in Tyler's info box while trying to look at the code to use on another page. I believe I undid the changes, but if there are any problems I'm very sorry and I promise that it was not intentional or malicious. Kmwebber (talk) 02:45, 8 September 2016 (UTC)KmwebberReply

Activism?

edit

Is being gay in public what we are calling "activism" now? It seems odd to me that Tyler is being described as an "activist" when I've yet to see anything from him that would truly qualify as activism. Raising money for the Trevor Project isn't "activism," it's philanthropy. Are there any examples of when Tyler used his fame and position to ask his followers to take a stand on a political issue or went and made a speech or got arrested in support of a political objective? If not, I'd suggest taking "activist" out of how he is described. Viciouslies (talk) 05:23, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Height

edit

I can't find any source for him being 5'0, I met him and he was about 5'5 but I know my personal experience isn't a citable source. It seems like somebody just made that up? The video linked as the source does not show him saying he's 5'0. Sorry if I'm doing this wrong, I've never edited a page I just noticed this error! 64.53.146.230 (talk) 03:25, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
