Main Image

edit

so uh, anyone else notice that the main image on the wiki page shows Mary's nipple?

Elektra Movie

edit

Should this artical refer to Typhoid Mary being in the Elektra movie?--Dylankidwell 19:42, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

If you want to, though I think the only connection the two had was the name. --DrBat 22:35, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Comic cover

edit

I changed the cover to Marvel Knights/Daredevil #46 to the original cover that does not show the partial nipple ring on Typhoid Mary. The picture that was being used is either an altered version or one that was changed by the artist at some point after it was used as the comic cover. Either way, the actual comic cover is better suited for use, I think. AriGold 18:06, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, it was the original cover Maleev drew. Your version is the censored version Marvel released. --DrBat 23:18, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
"It's indictive of how people saw her, on a comic cover, not simply the artists work. It goes beyond just showing the character, it's about showing her as a comic figure."
Well, this is about a comic character article. It doesn't take a space scientist to realize that the image in the SHB -- no matter if it's a promotional image or a cover scan -- portraits a comic character. (Jesus...) 201.37.28.36 03:25, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Would it be ok if I replaced it w/Maleev's original image, now that I found the site I had got it from? [1][2]
Hopefully Newsarama is a trusted enough source so we won't have people arguing if the image is legit anymore... --DrBat 03:31, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
I still say, use the comic cover, it's better use. AriGold 13:40, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Better use in YOUR opinion. 201.17.89.78 14:48, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and those who agreed in the deletion of the old pic in this one's favor. AriGold 14:49, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

What about those who disagree? Have you seen a consensus in here? I have not. 201.17.89.78 15:47, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

The consensus was to delete the old pic in favor of this new one. Should you like to debate it again, fine. But don't just switch it after a decision was made to use this one. AriGold 15:56, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
There was no real consensus. And most people thought your picture was horrible. --DrBat 20:23, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
The quality could be better, but I still think that the comic cover is best use.As do the people you've asked for guidance here, it appears. Are you going to start telling them to change Batman and Spiderman's pages now too? ;-) AriGold 20:49, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
My simple opinion is to go with the higher quality picture. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 11:09, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Protected

edit

In order to keep the peace, I've protected the page. The current image (the Daredevil cover) stays until we figure out whether or not DrBat's image was truly released by Marvel in order to promote the character (good argument), or if it just got leaked out to the web (bad argument). Discussion should be on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics#Typhoid_Mary_image. STOP just reverting back and forth; that accomplishes nothing. howcheng {chat} 22:10, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anyone know what the deal is on this picture? The copyright info says its from a comic book, but it's not, it's a trading card. Is that ok? AriGold 22:13, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

With a smaller version of that, we can probably safely tag it with {{Character-artwork}} instead. howcheng {chat} 23:27, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
We determined @ WP:CMC that trading card scans aren't FU a while back, since to scan them is to essentially reproduce it in toto - SoM 00:06, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
I thought I had read something like that, but wasn't sure. AriGold 13:16, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deadpool

edit

Mary also had an important relationship with the mercenary Deadpool in his comic for a brief time. Shouldn't there be a mention of that? Elijya 14:40, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is Typhoid Mary a mutant??

edit

Has it ever been confirmed? Or did she receieve her powers some other way? It sure seems like she'd be a mutant with the way her powers are classified but I've never seen real confirmation............ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Volk006 (talkcontribs) 18:37, 16 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Based on the reference to House of M and retaining her powers in the article, I'm led to believe that she is a mutant. Darquis 19:38, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
She could also be a mutate, based on this information. Confirmation on status is required here. --JB Adder | Talk 22:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Since Typhoid Mary has been revealed to be Mutant Zero in the pages of Avengers: The Initiative, it is officially confirmed that Mary is a mutant as Henry Peter Gyrich refers to Mutant Zero as the "199th mutant." PhoenixRisingNYC | Talk 21:27, 2 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Marvel Edge Typhoid Mary

edit

There's no note about her solo series in the late 90's. It was a pre-MAX mature readers marvel title that was genuinely interesting as Ann Nocenti added a stable personality that worked as a private detective and showed the various persons within her occassionally cooperating. Is it not considered canon or just forgetten due to the unlamented Marvel Edge imprint? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.187.77.211 (talk) 15:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Marydd.png

edit

Image:Marydd.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
