Clean-up

Much of the information cited from Louis Paul's book was not even in the book. I've basically re-wrote that section combining information from Roberto Curti's book. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:07, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

What a mess

Was this filmography page vandalized? The list was so perfect, now it's unreadable. Was this page intentionally rearranged, or is this vandalism?68.129.15.71 (talk) 20:57, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

No, it was just unsourced. Now its getting sources. Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:19, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Can we please put back the filmography the way it was? This new version is unusable in its present form. Everything's out of order, and all the information that was on the filmography has been deleted. How is this an improvement? 68.129.15.71 (talk) 18:25, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Per WP:BURDEN, if you want to add years back, find a source specifically stating the film was released in a certain date/year/premiere etc. This is your burden. Andrzejbanas (talk) 21:29, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

The dates of origin on these films is common knowledge to Lenzi fans, for the most part. The filmography was all in order and accurately organized, now it's a jumbled mess. I just feel sorry for anyone who has to look at this page for research purposes. Good luck 68.129.15.71 (talk) 18:21, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

If they are truly "common knowledge", it would be much easier to find reliable sources. Its not, so it isn't. Andrzejbanas (talk) 18:29, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

The original date of origin (copyright) is the date that determines what order the films were made in, not a release date in some foreign country. In some cases, the theatrical release date is 5 years after the film's date of origin, or copyright. I don't see why you even pay attention to release dates in other countries, the date of the film's completion is much more relevant to the fans.68.129.15.71 (talk) 19:47, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

If you can reliably source an earlier date for anything please feel free to do so. GRAPPLE X 21:15, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
The copyright date is important outside legal issues. When it was released to the public actually has relevance to when it was available, how the film was distributed, when the film was made ready for the public etc. Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:49, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

The problem is, the Euro films were not released chronologically, some were only shown years after they were made. Someone looking up info on a particular director or actor can't get an idea of the order the films were made in, if all you have listed are the theatrical release dates. A list like that is useless to a researcher. They don't care when a particular country finally got around to showing the film, they want to know when it was made! 68.129.15.71 (talk) 20:15, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

When is this page going to be up and running again? Why was all the dates and trivia erased before the page could be redone properly? Now nobody can use it. Negligence like this is almost vandalism, if you think about it. Whats the difference?68.129.15.71 (talk) 20:27, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Abiding by the actual guidelines of the site is the exact opposite of vandalism. Complaining about a lack of information does not make it okay to ignore policy on verifiability and the citing of sources. GRAPPLE X 23:09, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
Adding sourced content is the closer to the opposite of vandalism. Do you know when the films where made? Got some sources? Add it to the prose, but honestly, I think people want to read something beyond "then he made _____. Then he made _____. then he made 36 gialli in 1976. then he made _____.". Yeah, people are itching for that information. ;P Andrzejbanas (talk) 02:36, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

I think people who come to the site are looking for more than a sterile list of titles without any other bits of trivia, where even the films' dates of origin are replaced by meaningless theatrical release dates (which more often than not are years after the films were made)68.129.15.71 (talk) 22:27, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

Per WP:TRIVIA, "Sections with lists of miscellaneous information (such as "trivia" sections) should be avoided as an article develops. Such information is better presented in an organized way." The articles are being devloped now, so these extra bits of trivia are again, the actual opposite of what wikipedia should contain. If you think the year should be changed, be my guest and bring it up on WP:FILM, because that's a pretty big request that goes beyond just this article on Lenzi. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:22, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
  • (edit conflict)The filmography table is a complete mess and absolutely unnecessary. Per WP:FILMOGRAPHY: "you should make sure there is an obvious benefit to table format before creating a table for a filmography" There is no benefit here whatsoever. --woodensuperman 15:18, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Worse yet, not only no benefit, but the sterile table format eliminates all of the interesting bits of trivia and alternate release titles which Euro film fans find so interesting. All that's left is a table with a few titles on it....very sterile and bare. Boring68.129.15.71 (talk) 17:55, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

See conversation below regarding this. Might as well keep it in one spot. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:33, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Z-news and lenzi's death

I've removed sources stating information claiming to be from Lenzi's son regarding his death which was not in the sources, sources using IMDb (see WP:RS/IMDb) and other poorly formatted sources. Do not re-add this content without finding proper sources. Thank you. Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:01, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

I've moved some of this information to a different section and removed unsourced statements. Andrzejbanas (talk) 01:26, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
