Todd Rundgren was later (circa 1988?) recruited to develop the script into a Broadway musical - that probably deserves a mention here if good sources are available. Invalidname 02:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

This seems quite justifiable since there is already a Wiki page for Todd Rundgren's Up_Against_It! 1997 album which states it consists "mostly of song demos he wrote and recorded between 1986 and 1989 for the musical theater adaptation of the never-produced screenplay Up Against It." Seems perfectly reasonable to work this information into the page. He performed "Free, White, and 21" from this album on the 2005 tour with Joe Jackson.

I have removed "We (The Beatles) didn't do it because it was gay. We weren't gay and really that was all there was to it." which has been tagged since March 2007. -- Beardo (talk) 17:00, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Wiki editors, please note - I personally SAW another musical theatre adaptation stage production of "Up Against it" in the mid-eighties, when Emerson College (Boston) adapted and produced it for the stage and then brought it up to the Johnson Theater in Durham, New Hampshire at UNH. I did an entire semester there studying Joe Orton under Dr. John C. Edwards of Newmarket, NH. So, contact me for confirmation if you want - robertciolfi@gmail.com - if interested in confirming and updating this information. Sincerely, Robert Ciolfi, (- sometime playwright in that area, see ciolfirobert.tripod.com) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.75.14.191 (talk) 05:32, 19 June 2015‎ (UTC)Reply
