Citation problems

1, This citation is no good, so I am deleting it. The template is badly filled in. If filled in correctly it would say |work=Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, Hyderabad

2, @Dr2Rao: I do not understand where the date of 18 August 1992 in the following citation comes from:

@Dr2Rao: Please can you provide a citation to a reliable source that uses the name Uttar Pradesh State Sunni Waqf Board. Just because the board in Andhra Pradesh has the word State in the name, does not mean that the board in Uttar Pradesh does; they are different places. Also reliable sources for the board in Uttar Pradesh have the word Central in the name.-- Toddy1 (talk) 05:35, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

I would like to move the page to Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board, because two reliable sources used that name in 2019. Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Board of Waqf is also a valid English-language name for it (used in a reliable source), so I would like to create a redirect page of that name.-- Toddy1 (talk) 05:42, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, this is not per policy. WP:COMMONNAME states, "When this offers multiple possibilities, editors choose among them by considering several principles: the ideal article title precisely identifies the subject; it is short, natural, distinguishable and recognizable; and resembles titles for similar articles."

"Central" is clearly not needed. A search on ProQuest Newspaper search, available via WP:The Wikipedia Library, gives 3,245 hits for "Sunni Waqf Board" and 1,614 results for "Sunni Central Waqf Board". So "Central" may be part of the official name, but it is clearly elided in common speech. It is unnecessary. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 06:50, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Was the search for "Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board" or for "Sunni Waqf Board"?

I have just done two searches on Google News:

• "Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board" -central 57 hits (English) 9 hits (non-English).
• "Uttar Pradesh Central Sunni Waqf Board" 11 hits (English)

Both of these searches initially gave larger numbers (169 and 26), but going through the results reduced the number of hits (this is normal with Google). I therefore have no objection to your moving the article, providing that the article gives the actual full name. I didn't put "Uttar Pradesh" in the search query because the sources rarely mention it, but it is only the UP board that has been in the news so much.

I would like to avoid the word, "central" as it will be confusing but will accept whatever you two decide. However, any name should contain/mention Uttar Pradesh.—Dr2Rao (talk) 09:51, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

I prefer to keep "Central" in the name for the time being, and revisit the question next year after the article has grown (or not), and many people have looked at it. There are certainly a lot of news stories available on Uttar Pradesh's Sunni waqf board - I suspect that most of them just repeat the same stories. Google searches show huge numbers of sources that could build an article on this board - maybe people will use them to grow the article - there will be an issue of recentism and WP:UNDUE - the board has probably been around for years, but most sources will be on vrey recent events. There is one news story about how it went to court to claim ownership of the Taj Mahal - they got told to produce documents signed by Shah Jahan donating the Taj Mahal to the board.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:24, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Bolding

This is an article about the "Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board". All these words should be in bold in the first sentence of the lead, not just "Sunni Central Waqf Board". There may be other Sunni central waqf boards in other places. An analogy is the article on Nottingham City Council - in the first sentence of the lead it has all three words in bold, not just "city council"; this is because there are other city councils in other English cities.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:57, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
