This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
The article still accurately reflects the meaning of the source, we don't say it's a direct quote, so I don't think it matters that they've made their definition more granular than ours. There's a 1:1 relationship between 'Parts of a plant' and ' fruit, seeds, roots, tubers, bulbs, stems, leaves, or flower parts' JeffUK12:43, 4 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Venn diagram supporting the fruits/vegetables explanation has been serving this article for more than one decade, and it has been removed without discussion. Please reinstate and discuss rationale for removal. Thanks. 2.36.103.36 (talk) 07:41, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I simply don't think it adds any information to the article. It purports to "show the overlap in the terminology of "vegetables" in a culinary sense and "fruits" in the botanical sense." however all it does show is that tomatoes are both culinary vegetables and botanical fruits.
Also, the image is low quality, it looks dated with the various different resolutions and scales; I have, in its place, put in a photo that's also on the Fruit page, which I think is more illustrative and better quality.
Both the original and archive URLs were in the old reference; it was just because the original URL was dead that the template shows the archive URL before the original. The new site seems better though, so I've replaced the reference. Liu1126 (talk) 17:16, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
