Notable Teachers

Meters, Ohnoitsjamie Please explain to me how a members of national and state hall of FAMEs (KEYWORD: FAME) are not notable. If you reverted due to no sign of school connection, then you clearly didn't read my edit notes. AdamsBHM021 (talk) 02:43, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

UPDATE

Ya know what, screw it. I'm not going to re-add them. I may at a later day just put a list of teachers on Nat'l HoF's, for specific, unique achievements only. Now that I look over there sections, it does seem to just be talking about them and their field in the school. *I am not done with the DCI Drum Major issue. I will likely not mess with that until Drum Corps season(during pre-season, there's not much talk about the Drum Major's rather than monthly updates), when more info is available on all that. SeeWP:WRITEITFIRST. Continuing to edit war is not a good idea. Meters (talk) 02:58, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Samuel Crawford

Meters (talk) sigh, you still don't get it, do you? He doesn't want to be famous. He does not release information about what he has done every second of his life. DCI Drum Majors don't do that. You are treading somewhere you don't understand, and have no desire to understand. I kindly suggest you keep away from editing things you don't understand. I'm not going to go edit some page written in Chinese, now am I? NO, because I don't speak Chinese. You need to be treating Drum Corps and Marching Band like an entirely different language, culture, and religion, because to some, that's what it is. If you had been a DCI fan for 10 years, then I might've considered trying to agree with you on something. Please try to understand what I'm saying. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm saying the truth: Noone understands Band, EXCEPT Band. AdamsBHM021 (talk) 03:12, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

PSA:I'm not trying to say not everyone can edit wiki, I'm just asking that you only edit things you know about, not just from Editting Wikipedia. AdamsBHM021 (talk) 03:21, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

See WP:OWN Meters (talk) 03:37, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Meters taken directly from WP:OWN :"Even though editors can never "own" an article, it is important to respect the work and ideas of your fellow contributors." I am asking you to respect the fact band isn't like a history subject, high school, etc. I have read the part about not saying you have no hands on experience. I have never tried to say I own the article. You might have thought I implied it, though. As I have said before, if there is not enough information on him to right an article, though he is notable, what do you want me to do? I don't see why this is a problem, usually non band members have enough common sense to avoid things that have to do with band. Defending your stance with policy pages just shows you haven't read what I wrote on this talk pages. Again, band isn't like anything else. It's not like football, or reality tv, where they have camera following them everywhere and have a news article about them every hour. Assuming I am right that he should be on the list(which he should, in band members opinions[usally 1/5+ of high schoolers]), why do you have a problem with this. Citing the Notability page, again, shows you haven't read what I've said. AdamsBHM021 (talk) 12:34, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

I do not act like I own this article AdamsBHM021 (talk) 12:34, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

I have produced a list of what I consider as more than enough evidence of Samuel's connection to the school and notability. I am going to re-add him to the list tomorrow after 12:00 PM CST, unless someone comments here between now and then about something I've missed. AdamsBHM021, no one is going to look at a Google drive to view your sources. That is not how this works. You have two choices. Post proper citations to your sources here so we (that we being other more experienced editors) can review them, or in the alternative, add the material to the article and we will simply revert it if it isn't adequately referenced. Btw, Wikipedia has no deadline. Again, giving deadlines is not how this works. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 05:27, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
I'll be happy to block you at High Noon if you wish to add that name at High Noon. Given that this is developing into a WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT issue, said block will be indefinite. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:19, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
I have provided a list of sources that WAY MORE than support what I've been asked to show with more sources. 1. School connection? Video, uniform, social media post. 2. Confirmation of him being the Drum Major? YES. What more do you want from me? I can't convince you to be interested in a sport that your not interested in, so don't say it's not notable. And yes, DCI and Drum Corps Marching is definitely a professional sport, even though nothing about it is on WP:ATH. That's for the same reason I've said before. Very few people show respect for Band and Drum Corps communities except for people who are a part of them. I have already looked over all previous conversations and have found nothing(that I haven't already done) that anyone has said I need for him to be on the list(No, I'm not going to make a freestanding page, you can look back at the 10 times I've said this before for an explanation). AdamsBHM021 (talk) 00:18, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
It has nothing to do with whether we are interested in the activity, and everything to do with maintaining the quality of the encyclopedia. Since you admit "there is not enough information on him to write an article" we're asking you to provide us with the sources (here, not on your linked google drive} so that we can evaluate his notability and whether he qualifies as a notably alumnus. It's up to you. You may choose to do so, or not.
You claim that "DCI and Drum Corps Marching is definitely a professional sport". Really? High school marching bands are paid professional athletes? Even if you were referring to the university level position (to which the person in question was apparently very recently appointed) I still find it hard to believe this is a professional position. Please provide reliable sources for this too. Meters (talk) 16:56, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
