Verification

edit

The dates in this table need to be verified from reliable published sources. For example, I found that Deng had ceased being First VP in 1980, although this table showed 1983. I have made the correction with citation to two erstwhile reliable sources. I note that there are many sources for most of this information, and while a few may be incorrect, checking several and comparing their relative reliability will produce a substantially correct page. Also, in passing, I note that Europa Publications (2002) "The People's Republic of Chine: Introductory Survey" The Europa World Year Book 2003 volume 1, (44th edition) Europa Publications, London, p. 1075, col. 1, ISBN 1-85743-227-4; indicates that Deng's first term as First VP was really ended by his dismissal by Hua in 1976 (not 1978), and that his reappointment by the 11th National Congress of the CCP was in August of 1977, starting his second tenure of 1977-1980. I have not yet made this second correction as I am waiting for additional confirmation. Wan Li's appointment as First VP in 1980 is also well documented.(Staff (31 August 1980) "Peking Prepares For a Transfusion Of Younger Blood" The New York Times Section 4, page 2, column 1) I note that this table does not show Zhao Ziyang's 1980 six month term as a VP. --Bejnar (talk) 20:21, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Executive Vice Premier"

edit

Someone keeps removing references to "executive vice premier" across Wikipedia. Why? China Vitae is generally considered an authoritative source on Chinese leadership, and it clearly states that Li Keqiang is currently 'Executive Vice-Premier'. While Xinhua does not use this designation, preferring to call him simply "Vice-Premier", they never use the term First Vice-Prmier. Therefore, the current revision of this page is inaccurate.
