Confusing ownership info

This article was renamed from Visconti Motorsports to Team Chick Motorsports, but the source only says that Team Chick bought cars and equipment from Visconti. The family evaluated their options for much of the year before ultimately deciding to purchase equipment from Visconti Motorsports to launch their own ARCA Menards Series program. I'm not sure that confirms the entire Visconti Motorcars company was sold, name and all. But the Visconti website is down [[1]], suggesting they are indeed gone. But making that assumption is WP:SYNTH. So keep an eye out for better sourcing. I only noticed this because the person who tried to change the name back complained at the Teahouse. Jvee7424 ("Someone edited my page...change the name back to my page name") has declared to be the former owner (Visconti) of some assets, at User talk:Cavanaughs#Visconti Motorsports. Visconti Motorsports is more than a car and some equipment being sold. This is a family named company since my father started it in the 1970s. My Motorsports operation is being restructured and I would like my page back as it was. The Chicks bought a race car and some equipment. That does not give them rights to my Visconti Motorsports LLC. I would like to have this reversed as soon as possible. I'm not very understanding of wiki but I do know there's a way to reverse this back to my company name. Please advise. (edit conflict) @Jvee7424: One of the more frustrating things about Wikipedia for newcomers is the fact that we can't just take anyone's word for information. Everything has to be independently sourced. If you think about it, this is the only practical way the encyclopedia can succeed. Otherwise, there would be a lot of back and forth without resolution when people disagreed about information that's not printed anywhere. It would seem that if your company has been around for over 50 years and is well known in the motor racing space, that somebody would have written an accurate description of what happened, supporting your statements. That's what we need here. Nonetheless, because the narrative is not definitive in the media coverage, I am inclined to go back to the old article name, keeping the original status quo, and simply report that some assets were sold to Team Chick. Then it will need to be determined if Team Chick is notable enough to have its own article going forward. But let's see what others think. I moved it back, and I also re-added a couple of lines about the transaction between Visconti and Chick, because I thought it was a relevant explanation of the usage of the number 74, and felt it would clarify the relationship between the two companies. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:57, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
