"Wild West" Wanted Posters
editThis page does not fully address the cliche "Wanted" posters commonly depicted in western movies and on television. The role of wanted posters in tracking criminals across the lawless expanding western border of the United States in the mid 19th century was very large. I believe we can also connect this page with bounty hunters and chasing down wanted people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Houston.Stuart (talk • contribs) 14:40, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- Real instances are generally preferable to depictions in media. Bataaf van Oranje (talk) 13:20, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Wanted Posters and Missing Persons
editHow far are wanted posters from missing persons posters? Could we expand the definition of a wanted poster to include posters of missing persons, also sometimes produced by law enforcement and offering a reward. This could include missing persons notices on milk cartons, and posters or fliers handed out in a community. Missing pet posters might also be relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Houston.Stuart (talk • contribs) 14:42, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Wanted Posters in Film
editWanted posters are frequently used in film as a way to generate comedic effect and further the rising action of the plot. We could expand on the use of wanted posters in film and in popular culture. Katnotcat (talk) 20:38, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
Collecting Wanted Posters
editWanted posters can garner a high price in collecting circles and is a hobby for many. It would be nice to include the price range that a poster could be bought for, as well as to mention some extraordinary examples. Katnotcat (talk) 20:51, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
Lead sentence
editThe lead sentence includes "an alleged criminal whom authorities wish to kill." I believed the intention is only to take the person into custody. Not necessarily to kill them. PurpleChez (talk) 14:48, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yep, it's wrong. Feel free to be WP:BOLD. -- Fyrael (talk) 20:10, 7 September 2018 (UTC)

Current version of the wanted photo
edit'Today many wanted posters are displayed on the Internet.' Isn't there a more topical / suitable / concise expression to name the above in addition to the description?
