Dextran Gums
editShould this link to Dextran instead of the nonexistent dextran gum?
A bit chaotic?
editIs it my impression or there is a bit of syntactical confusion? I can't parse sentences with a clear idea of what exactly they refer to. Spamhog (talk) 13:01, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
Composition and Preparation
editThese two sections appear to contradict one-another:
Composition: "The primary component of water gels is methylamine nitrate".
The citation for this claim is a page published by DuPont in their "products" section. It's not clear that they are referring to watergel explosives in general, rather than some DuPont product.
Preparation: "Water gel explosives are produced by combining nitroparaffins, usually nitromethane, with an aqueous salt solution and a gelling agent".
This section needs more citations. This claim is supported by a citation to a page on freewebs.com; the author of the cited page is not named. That's not obviously a WP:RS.
Methylamine nitrate (aka methylammonium nitrate) is not the same stuff as nitromethane.
Since these two mutually-contradictory sections comprise the majority of the body of the article, it's hard to see how anyone could have confidence in the article. I want to tag the article with some sort of "poor article" warning, but I'm not sure which tag to use. MrDemeanour (talk) 09:38, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
