Big edit

As you'll probably see, I've started a big edit to this page. Most of it isn't all that detailed because a good reference book I have called "Weatherfield Life" has gone walk-about! When I get it back, I will write more.

I have left the original information regarding Weatherfield High, Weatherfield Arms etc. It would probably be useful to have sections for educational institutions (Weatherfield High, Weatherfield Girls' School & Oakhill Private School) and quite a substantial list of pubs and of course the Newton & Ridley's Brewery.

I don't understand the last line or what relevance it has to Weatherfield. The set of Coronation Street may well move from central Manchester to Salford, but that does not mean that Weatherfield is moving - the town is fictional afterall! Ben 03:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I have noticed you have been putting alot of work in expanding the article, which is great! It isn't often I see an article (in a stub state it was previously), be generated into an article with a wealth of information over night (literally).

I have noticed you have been using alot of line breaks (such as <br>), some of which were unncessary and I have removed (near the top). The others further down I can understand why they have been placed (to keep the format of the article intact), but may not look the way as intended with different resolutions, unless of course further information is planned. It seems as if it's only been partially revamped by yourself, so I will assume that's the case. Good stuff! Bungle44 22:41, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Map

Forgot to add that I've scanned and uploaded a map of Coronation Street and its surrounding streets that I drew a couple of years back! Ben 03:54, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I like the map very much, but just to ask, you know in corrie they have the arch next to the rovers.... what is that all about and what is the purpose of it? to hide the ITV buildings behind the street in real life? they could have come up with something betterlike trees or a big bill board or even a sliding door that has a fake street printed on it or just leave it all to the camera tricks and digital enhancement...

Also the rosmand street health centre isnt on your map as it is and the streets behind coronation street, have they ever been mentioned? just wondering how you drew the map based on my questions above, cheers I think its great though! maybe an updated one would be good! Image copyright problem with File:Newton and Ridley.jpg

Removal of giant lists

I moved the giant lists to their own page (accessable via the Corrie box) they messed up the article and took up too much space, this article is about Weatherfield, not a database on who lives where on the street --Ant parker (talk) 13:38, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Missing places

I have thought of some places that have been missed off from past and present! Would it be an idea to include the following on this page?

• The church that sophie webster and emily bishop go to
• Freshco
• Penny King's factory of bathrobes
• The allotments that jack duckworth went to

Some past places include;

• The Quarryman's Rest - where Bet and Alec were to be exiled when the brewery wanted to turn The Rovers into an American themed bar called Yankees.
• Ingram's - where Mike Baldwin worked for a while. What actually happened to that?
• The Graffiti Club, the pub run by Alec Gilroy pre his Rovers days.

You've also missed out the (British) Legion which is a place that was regularly mentioned in the Albert Tatlock/Stan Ogden era. Business

Hi as the Business page was merged with here, I thought would it not be nice to include a list of employees at each business, i dont think theres anywhere thats stated, also, an info box for the business; giving basic details (A photo for the majority, Rovers, Kabin, Kebab Shop etc., the owner, location, street, how long its been there etc.) Just to try and improve each sections, any thoughts? Article mistake

The article states Weatherfield is in Salford, yet it reads "Coronation Street reflected changes in local administration when, in 1974, the County Borough of Weatherfield became a Metropolitan Borough, part of the Greater Manchester county following the Local Government Act 1972." As Salford is a borough of Greater Manchester and Weatherfield is a fictional borough of Greater Manchester, Weatherfield, cannot be in Salford, as it is two seperate areas.
