Dubious
editAlthough Oscar Wilde was gay, I see no link between this article and the interests expressed in the phrase "which tries to ensure comprehensive and factual coverage of all LGBT-related issues on Wikipedia". The article on the movie is not a LGBT-related issue! The article on Oscar Wilde biography maybe. Don't mix the movie as a work of art with the persona as a human being. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.216.236.74 (talk) 14:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

editWhy does the article state that the film is based on "biographical notes" by Richard Ellman, when it was based on the full biography published by Ellman?
The film was originally supposed to be based on Ellman's biography but the filming ran into trouble with the Wilde estate as the film was sensationalising a lot of Wilde's life. The film as a whole is amazingly shoddy and actually inlcudes only the most superficial parts of wilde's works because once the wilde estate discovered what the film was doing, they withdrew support.. A very badly done film that has unfortunately been sold to the masses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.26.21.156 (talk) 20:14, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Wilde DVD.jpg
editImage:Wilde DVD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Has Wilde been premièred on UK television?
editNot pertinent to the article, I know, but I'm curious to know if it's been premièred on UK television yet. I find myself rather surprised that I've not yet seen the film, despite it having been released more than a decade ago. --Rebroad (talk) 11:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
