COI concerns
editNot sure how User:Jmelandon gets his birthdate or his picture. Appears to be connected to the subject in question. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:39, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
- User:Doc James, I think you should reconsider your claim that the new editor has any connection to the subject. He told you that he took the birthdate from a newspaper article. Commons deleted that photo as a copyvio. Copying a photo from the subject's official Twitter feed doesn't require any connection whatsoever, nor does forgetting to cite everything you add. New editors make those kinds of mistakes all the time. WhatamIdoing (talk) 02:48, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
First look under Wikipedia's new article curation / review process
editThanks for your work on this article. As a part of Wikipedia's new article review / curation process I just took a first look at the article.
In my opinion, this topic, to the extent visible in the article does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines which is a requirement for existence of a separate article on topic. This guideline is described at WP:Notability and in the specialized guidelines linked at the beginning of that page which provide somewhat of an alternate. If you feel that the subject of the article can meet wikipedia's notability guidelines, may I suggest that you bolster the article in those areas. The core element of wp:notability is that there are some independent secondary published sources which covered the topic of the article in depth. The sources given in the article mostly cover the organizations that he created or was involved in with limited coverage of him. Also the majority of the article is about the organizations that he started. One idea is moving into the organization article, including a section on him, and then get this article deleted.
I have not marked the article as reviewed. This means that in the near future, another new page reviewer (or possibly me) will take a look at it again. I have not nominated the article for deletion. If I can be of assistance, or if there are any questions, or if you would like me to review the article after any changes are made, please ping me or write me on my talk page.
