Faint promotional whiff alert

edit

It would make this article appear stealthily promotional to fill in the history section somewhat, yet fail to mention whatsoever that Ice Alaska's relationship with the Alaska Railroad (not "the state railroad"; the valid link should demonstrate their notability and offer a clue, unless someone is just so obsessed with ice carving that they believe that anything not related to ice carving is far game for belittling) was somewhat controversial, and that problems between the two entities carried on for several years, remaining largely unresolved in the end.

George Horner's death several years ago probably has a whole lot to do with their new location and ice pond, as it was an active gravel pit which was in the beginning stages of redevelopment before Ice Alaska came along, which occurred due to their problems with the railroad. The original plan (or, at least what I was told was the original plan back in 2005 or 2006) was to put houses along the bend of the Chena River across from the Chena River State Recreation Site. However, there's enough vacant land fronting the Chena to where they probably got themselves a much better deal in selling to Ice Alaska.

Also, the old Ice Park was in Fairbanks, but their current location is not (it's actually in College). Hopefully, we'll at least be able to keep that detail straight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Not. RadioKAOS  – Talk to me, Billy 02:44, 15 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
