WP:THREE Sources

edit

I believe the below three sources cited in my article meet Wikipedia's standards:

1. LeVota, Meghan. "Kauffman honoree examines impact of accelerators on an ecosystem". Startland News. Retrieved 6 March 2024.

2. Carter, Andrea (16 April 2015). "2015 Best 40 Under 40 Professors: Yael Hochberg, Rice University Jones School". Poets & Quants. Retrieved 19 May 2023.

3. "The Ewing Marion Kauffman Prize Medal for Distinguished Research in Entrepreneurship". Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Retrieved 19 May 2023.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to review! Brick1329 (talk) 19:15, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have no conflict of interest re. this article's subject. Brick1329 (talk) 19:15, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I find this difficult to believe given this article is Brick1329's sole contribution to Wikipedia. Cabrils (talk) 01:56, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Cabrils and Brick1329: Why do you believe this article is notable? I don't see how it meets WP:GNG with the WP:THREE listed: Source 1 is probably the best but definitely isn't great. There's almost nothing about Startland online so I can't say if it's reliable or not. Poets and Quants appears to be a blog and there's no indication of reliability. Regardless, it's mostly just an interview transcript with no other coverage or commentary so it doesn't really count towards notability. Source 3 is the award press release, which is a WP:RS for verifying the award but doesn't help with notability. I can't find anything else online about her. She seems to be a WP:RUNOFTHEMILL professor and doesn't meet WP:NPROF. The best bet for notability is probably WP:ANYBIO criteria 1 with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Prize Medal for Distinguished Research in Entrepreneurship award, though I don't know if it'd be considered a "well-known and significant award or honor." @CFA Apologies for the belated reply. I am inclined to agree with your comments re WP:THREE, but doesn't Hochberg's position as "Ralph S. O'Connor Professor of entrepreneurship and finance at Rice University" meet WP:NACADEMIC#5? Cabrils (talk) 02:06, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
