Additional information about the company's history. Today, the company focusses on the production of UAVs for private and commercial applications instead of electric manned aircrafts.

Yuneec is a founding member of the Dronecode[1], a non-profit organization governed by the Linux Foundation. It was formed in 2014 with the goal of using open-source Linux for the benefit of users with cheaper, better, and more reliable UAV software.[2]

At the end of 2016, Yuneec established a research and development center in the outskirts of Zurich. Yuneec Advanced Technology Labs AG focuses on highly integrated computer vision and obstacle avoidance as well as advanced flight control algorithms and commercial drone applications.[3]

At the beginning of 2017, Yuneec presented its first product for the commercial market, the H520, and closed a gap in the commercial UAV segment with the attractively priced, modular Copter.[4] The H520 is available with different payloads (high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging cameras and zoom cameras[5]) and in different versions, e.g. as RTK[6] or LTE and encryption version via the Skyhopper module.[7] Especially for the US market, Yuneec developed together with 3DR the Yuneec 3DR H520-G, a drone made in America, which is tailored to the security regulations for drones in the public sector and can therefore be used in sensitive government and military projects.[8] The H520 is also used in many other sectors and applications, such as police[9], fire brigade[10], construction/architecture[11], surveying, mapping[12] and inspection[13]

Thanks for bringing this here. I can add it, but it will need to have the WP:SPAM and WP:PEACOCK language removed, plus many of the refs cited seem to be mostly press releases reprinted, so it may take a bit to get it into something suitable for an encyclopedia. I'll indicate here when I am done. - Ahunt (talk) 11:56, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Done. Given the reports of financial issues with the company these are significant announcements, but what would be helpful is some updated information on its financial health. - Ahunt (talk) 13:25, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

New logo [1] http://files.yuneec.de/Logo_Yuneec.png

Yuneec is a Cayman Island, not Chinese, company. http://files.yuneec.de/Yuneec%20Holding%20Ltd.%20%28CAYMAN%29.pdf

Thanks, both are   Done. Just to note, a holding company set up off shore for tax reasons doesn't make it a Cayman Islands company, the manufacturing, design and all are still in China. - Ahunt (talk) 12:57, 25 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. Still the logo shown on the Wikipedia page is the old one. The new one doesn't include the subline "Electric Aviation" anymore. In addition the "e"s have been separated. Jennifereickemeyer (talk) 12:44, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

The new logo is there. Most likely your browser is just caching the old one. Hit "F5" and it should appear. - Ahunt (talk) 13:01, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
