edit- ... that the Miocene maple Acer traini may be the same species as the living Douglas Maple (fruits pictured)?

- I couldn't find the word "Douglas" in the article. I recognize that it links to Acer glabrum, but if the hook says "Douglas Maple", it should be mentioned in the article, too --Rosiestep (talk) 02:38, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
- As noted in the Acer glabrum article, Douglas maple is one of the common names for the species. If you really are not comfortable, then going with the binomial will work. --Kevmin § 03:01, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
- I like the hook, so wondering if putting Douglas Maple in parentheses within the article is a possibility? If not, then I think your suggestion of an ALT1 with the binomial would be a good way to go. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:59, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
