Beit Harambam Congregation
... that the largest Sephardi synagogue in Northeast Philadelphia is primarily composed of Hebrew-speaking Israeli expatriates?Source: "And it's the larger of two Sephardic synagogues in the Northeast." (Jewish Exponent); "Pollack points to Beit Harambam, a Sephardic synagogue where congregants are almost all Hebrew-speaking Israelis." (Jewish Exponent)- ALT0a: ... that the largest Sephardi synagogue in Northeast Philadelphia is primarily composed of Hebrew-speaking Israeli expatriates?
- ALT1:
... that a Philadelphia synagogue received donations of time and labor from its own members, many of whom are skilled contractors or have jobs in the construction industry, to carry out its expansion?Source: "many members of the community work as contractors or in the construction business, and lent their time, labor and expertise to the project." (Jewish Exponent) - ALT1a:
... that a Philadelphia synagogue received donations of time and labor from its own members, many of whom are skilled contractors or have jobs in the construction industry, to enlarge its facilities?

- hooks - comments for both, please fix one
- For the primary proposed hook I prefer wikilinking "Sephardi synagogue" to the article, which is accurate, rather than "Hebrew-speaking Israeli expatriates", which is less accurate because most of those do not live in Philly. Make the change and then I support.
- For the second hook change "its expansion" to its "architectural expansion" or "facilities expansion" so that it is more clear the expansion is not online, by membership, financial, or otherwise.
- otherwise properly formatted, right length, interesting enough
- everything else looks great!
- hook are in article with citations
- citations are appropriate in format and throughout the article
- more than 1500 characters - 5170
- recently made (3 days ago)
- no disputes active
- article tidy - sections, links, infobox, categories
- Submitter reviewed another DYK and was thorough.
- @Yoninah: Please respond to the hook comments I made and I expect to pass this. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:12, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review. I provided new hooks. Personally, I prefer ALT0a. Yoninah (talk) 15:53, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Good to go with hook ALT0a! @Yoninah: I am not a regular here at DYK. Do you know if I should do anything more to approve this, or might my part in this be complete now? Thanks for making a nice article. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:32, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Blue Rasberry: for every nomination you need to check that it meets the five main DYK criteria. You have checked newness, length, and QPQ. You should also check that the hook fact has an inline cite in the article, and that there is no close paraphrasing (you can check the latter at this link. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 21:07, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Right! The Earwig detector did not identify copyright violations. I did not check the entire article for close paraphrasing, but I felt that it read nicely in Wikipedia's style. The information from the hooks is remixed in a new context in the article, which is we we expect when there is no close paraphrasing. The facts presented in the hooks do have inline citations, as does content throughout the article. These things seem good also. Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 10:02, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
