Citizens Square
- ... that Citizens Square was almost named after Fort Wayne's Harry Baals? Source: source
- Reviewed: Wayward Son (novel)
- Comment: The hook is for April Fools' Day—I can write an ALT if that doesn't work out. I'm back and forth whether to write it as "hairy balls" or "Harry Baals".
Created by Theleekycauldron (talk). Self-nominated at 21:44, 14 October 2021 (UTC).
- I'll review this in a moment. Armadillopteryx 22:54, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- Article is new enough (created October 14) and long enough (1847 characters of prose).
- Article is written in NPOV and contains adequate inline citations. Earwig is unbothered; only close hits are presented as attributed quotations.
- The hook is properly formatted, of acceptable length, and interesting to a broad audience. Its claim is supported by an inline citation in the article. However, the quotation marks around the bolded text should be removed from the hook.
- QPQ is done.
- Article is almost good to go; just waiting on the minor copy edit to the hook. Armadillopteryx 23:08, 17 October 2021 (UTC)

- Cool, article is good to go. Note the request for WP:DYKAPRIL. Armadillopteryx 00:08, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Armadillopteryx: Thanks so much! correct me if I'm wrong, but i think you also assess the request for DYKAPRIL, no? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 00:10, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- My understanding is that the person who promotes the hook makes that decision. Please do correct me if I'm wrong. Armadillopteryx 00:12, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: what is procedure at the moment, neglecting the discussion at WT:DYK? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 00:15, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- April Fools' Day hooks are special: the decision should be made by the reviewer whether the hook seems appropriate for AFD or not. Of course, others may disagree; sometimes it takes until when the preps are being built for the AFD sets to realize that a hook isn't quite right. My feeling is that the proposed hook makes a great quirky hook, but it doesn't feel like AFD to me. I'm going to ping Gatoclass, our AFD guru, for their opinion as to whether this should be saved for AFD or not. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:41, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- That's a fair cop, BlueMoonset. If you or Gatoclass has any suggestions on how it could be an AFD hook, that'd be appreciated! Thanks for the drop in theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 00:09, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- Per BlueMoonset, this one reads to me like a quirky rather than an April Fools hook. Gatoclass (talk) 14:06, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- So should this one be promoted in a regular set? Probably, as the last hook? – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 05:10, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

@Kavyansh.Singh: that'd be correct, but it's probably not the time for this one? When I left you the edit summary note, I more meant nominations that are at the back of the queue that I can't promote, because I'd reviewed, not nominated, them. You're free to promote this now if you want, of course (how can i refuse), but i meant nominations that are more backlogged than this one. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 05:14, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Sure, was just checking into this one while scrolling through the page. – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 05:19, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, my bad then. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 05:21, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
