Edward Dalton

edit
  • ... that Edward Dalton created New York City's first ambulance service?

Created by Nikkimaria (talk). Self-nominated at 15:12, 22 May 2017 (UTC).

  • Article created and DYK nominated on the same day, 22 May. So falls within 7 day range. QPQ done. Hook length is less than 200 characters. Readable prose is above 1500 characters. I have added web URL for the source books.
  • Both the references do not support "After having to briefly leave the army to recover from an illness – most likely malaria" from first para. Let me know if I am missing anything here. "Rapid Response" need not be in caps as the term used in the source is "the creation in 1866 of the rapid response cholera interdiction teams". Rest of the article looks good. - Vivvt (Talk) 09:27, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
  • @Vivvt: The Oshinsky source states "His first tour ended quickly...Dalton fell victim to "the unwholesome exhalations of the Chickahominy swamps" - a likely reference to malaria. But he did return to the war". The same source refers to his proposal as "Rapid Response". Nikkimaria (talk) 11:55, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks for pointing to the correct reference about Malaria. I was suggesting to use lower case "rapid response" as compared to "Rapid Response". Also, any specific reasons you removed the web urls for the books? - Vivvt (Talk) 04:14, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
  • I understood your suggestion; I'm saying that the source uses upper case. The web URL you inserted for the Oshinsky source led to the wrong version (ebook) - the one consulted was the print. Nikkimaria (talk) 10:56, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
  • This is good to go! - Vivvt (Talk) 10:04, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
