Elf Yourself, Jason Zada
edit( Back to T:TDYK )
( Article history links: )
... that Jason Zada developed the interactive website Elf Yourself, where viewers can place their own images into downloadable videos of dancing elves?
- Reviewed: Fain Skinner
- Comment: Created the Jason Zada article, and in researching him found that Elf Yourself was also notable enough for Wikipedia. It made sense to write the second quickly enough to have included here as a double DYK. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:57, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Created/expanded by MichaelQSchmidt (talk). Self nom at 03:57, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- The wording is awkward, "created the mini-film creating", too much creating in 6 words. Maybe change the first one to "developed", or something similar. --kelapstick(bainuu) 04:07, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yup, no need to refer to films twice. As now modified,[1] the hook looks better. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 04:38, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I like that one better. --kelapstick(bainuu) 05:01, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm glad you stopped in. :) Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:02, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
ALT 1 = ... that visiting the mini-film-creating interactive website Elf Yourself, created by Jason Zada, has become an annual tradition?ALT 2 = ... that after Jason Zada developed the interactive website Elf Yourself, JibJab included the option for viewers to download videos of themselves as the dancing elves?- (size, plagiarism spot checks, etc) but hold on, DYK volunteer: give the boys a moment--MQS, K, there is plenty of room in the first hook (which I like best) to stick in that annual tradition thing. Also, MQS, I think you should stick the Scrooge version in the Elf article! It's funny. Drmies (talk) 14:04, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- This was promoted prematurely against the reviewer's wishes stated above; since the nomination isn't even 12 hours old, I'm pulling this back from prep to allow time for the nominators to respond. Agree that first hook is best so far, BTW. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:22, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I appreciate it. What's funny is that this silly little game (no disrespect intended, MQS!) apparently has become an "annual tradition" according to one of the references, and that's interesting, possibly interesting enough for the hook--but I want to leave that to the editors/nominator. - Response to the above...
- ALT 3 = ... that the interactive website Elf Yourself, an annual tradition where viewers can place personal images into downloadable videos of dancing elves, was first developed by Jason Zada?
- Okay Dr, I've tweaked the hook (see ALT3 above) and added the "Scrooge Yourself" information into the Elf Yourself article,[2] but now help me tweak ALT 3 if it needs it. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:46, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that; it's verified. Let it roll. Drmies (talk) 19:54, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- ALT 3 approved per Drmies, earlier hooks struck given creator preference, ready to go again. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:20, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
