International Wrestling Association (1970s)

  • The article meets all of the criteria except that the hook is weak and I don't think it will draw most readers in.
  • What's notable about having "intention"?
  • I doubt most readers will understand what "creating the first national professional wrestling promotion" means. This is an odd use of the word "promotion" for most people. Is there a plain English name for the "professional wrestling promotion" that could be used to make the hook more understandable, like "building the first nationwide business promoting wrestling" ?
  • And "established" and "intention" are weak verbs. How about this instead:
ALT1 ... that Eddie Einhorn organized the International Wrestling Association in 1975 with the goal of building the first nationwide business promoting wrestling"?
I am also unclear if Nikki311 needs to complete a QPQ review of another article. A QPQ check turned up no results. — btphelps (talk to me) (what I've done) 18:39, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
As best I can determine, Nikki311 will need to complete a quid pro quo review. Although it has been over four years since the last DYK passed, I found over a dozen DYKs that made it to the main page from mid-2009 into 2010. Only if these (and any others prior to that dozen) were all nominated by someone else would it mean that a QPQ was not required. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:36, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
Sorry! I missed that requirement...it's been awhile since I've nominated a DYK. I've done a QPQ at Template:Did you know nominations/Hermética. The alternate hook for my nomination is acceptable to me. Nikki311 03:49, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
  • New reviewer needed to check the ALT1 hook and decide whether the article is ready for approval. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:25, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
- it looks ok to me. The exact quote is: On another occasion, Scott said that he was approached by Eddie Einhorn to help out with his big plan for a national wrestling promotion, which eventually was the IWA. Not the most in-depth coverage of the idea, but certainly passes. ALT1 looks ok to go. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 13:47, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
