Jenő Zsigmondy

edit
  • ... that Hungarian tennis champion Jenő Zsigmondy caught a deadly disease and as his health faded he had to give up tennis and subsequently took up golf?
  • Reviewed: Evan Gattis
  • Comment: Hungarian reviewer is needed as all but one references is in Hungarian (the other is in Dutch)

  • Though I'm not Hungarian, I did some minor improvements and also retouched the photo. Hope it helped. The article looks good at first glance. It's 5x expanded, sources seem to be decent. The hook is sourced. --Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 17:11, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Needs another reviewer to finish off this review. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
  • I don't know that you're going to find a reviewer who speaks Hungarian, so I can AGF the language. The article was sufficiently expanded in the typical time period and is well sourced, though I'd prefer to see a reduced reliance on WP:PROSELINE. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:54, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry, but I have a real problem with this hook. An undefined "deadly disease" is odd to have in an article: usually, a name is given to a disease, as any disease that ends up killing the person who has contracted it is "deadly". A more successful hook might note that he took up golf due to fading health and won some amateur competitions. BlueMoonset (talk) 07:30, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
  • The type of the disease isn't specified in the coloumns of Tennisz és golf probably because of privacy reasons. What about replacing "deadly" with incurable or if not than just cut it out entirely? Lajbi Holla @ meCP 10:42, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
  • If the columns do state that it was an incurable disease, then perhaps "suffered from an incurable disease" would be better: "caught" implies that it was communicable, but if it doesn't say, genetic is equally possible. And if they don't say incurable, then such statements need to be removed from both article and hook. One possibility for a new ALT if "incurable" can't be sourced: add "as" after the initial "that" and an apostrophe after his name, and delete everything after the name up to (but not including) "health". • I go with the second option then:
  • ALT1:... that as Hungarian tennis champion Jenő Zsigmondy's health faded he had to give up tennis and subsequently took up golf?
  • for ALT1: hook is appropriately cited in the article by a foreign language source, AGF. The length and date both check out fine. Good to go. Harrias talk 12:04, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
