John Hamilton (American Revolution)
edit- ... that in the course of his service in the Revolutionary War, military officer John Hamilton was wounded three times?

- Comment, I'm article's the creator, and I like this better as a hook:
- Alt1 "... that former North Carolina Loyalist militia commander John Hamilton was appointed as the British Consul to Norfolk, Virginia, after the American Revolutionary War?"
- Rationale I happen to think this is a pretty compelling point if you think about the AmRevWar as a "civil war". This guy was neighbors and friends with people whom he fought against; how awkward was it, then, that he came right back to the U.S. and served as a representative of His Majesty, George III? See the Thomas Eaton/riding boots story for an example of how strange that circumstance must have been. Cdtew (talk) 22:44, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- QPQ I'm not the nominator, but since this is an article I wrote, and I'd like to get this DYK out of the way, I added QPQ on the nominator's behalf.

- Approve ALT1. Both hooks are ok, really, but agree that alt1 sounds better. QPQ done. Newer article, long enough. Hook length fine. Sources do back up cites and are not close paraphrases. Looks good. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 19:23, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
