Katita Waldo
- ... that ballerina Katita Waldo danced with the San Francisco Ballet for 22 years, and was the last member hired or promoted in late 1980s to retire? Source: "Katita Waldo's departure will mark a milestone when she quits the San Francisco Ballet in April after 22 years. She is the only remaining dancer of the many hired and promoted by artistic director Helgi Tomasson in the late 1980s to replenish the troupe's ranks. Her withdrawal from the principal roster closes both a decade and a chapter in the Ballet's history." ([1])
- ALT1:... that former ballerina Katita Waldo briefly came out of retirement to perform as the stepmother in Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella? Source: "And, yes, that was Katita Waldo, returned from retirement to deliver the tipsy, overbearing stepmother, enjoying an autumnal duet with her old partner, Damian Smith." ([2])

Overall: Nice article. Both hooks are fine, though I like ALT1 better. I don't think it needs to specify "former" though, since it's followed by "came out of retirement". Thoughts on that? Anyways, I'm happy to approve both hooks though ALT0 will need the minor sourcing issue to be fixed. DanCherek (talk) 00:06, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- @DanCherek: I added the citation for the ALT0 part. As for ALT1, she came out of retirement for one program then went back to retirement, so I added the word “briefly”. It is possible that she had since performed a few character roles that are mostly standing, sitting, walking and miming, but I wouldn’t consider her as an active dancer.
