Maison Alcan
edit- ... that Maison Alcan marked a turning point in the preservation of historic buildings in Montreal's Golden Square Mile?

- Nommed on 18 June. It is long enough and was in time when nominated. The French reference backs up the hook (I think). The reference to the Montreal Gazette says "word is.. reason-for-moving", that's rumoured/gossip rather than fact, isn't it? Book references need publisher and date. Apart from that I think this is okay. Secretlondon (talk) 00:27, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I wikified the refs as requested. As for the Gazette ref, I did try to make it clear that this was "reported" to happening, as opposed to having happened—and indeed, the sale and move has not yet happened, from what I can tell. I do appreciate that there's a lot of French refs for an English article, but there's really good stuff en francais and I hope Google Translate makes them all that much more transparent. I'll keep a watch here for other comments.... Shawn in Montreal (talk) 03:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Also this is my first DYK request, so if it doesn't pass muster I'll use it as a learning experience for next time. I can see that the response to my submission has been rather underwhelming. Based on the lack of interest, the Maison Alcan article would seem to be generating a "so what?" response amongst DYK members, and that's obviously not ideal. - No we're just understaffed. Don't be disheartened. There is a large backlog at the moment. Secretlondon (talk) 03:06, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
