Nimrod Mashiah

edit

2x expanded and sourced (BLP) by Epeefleche (talk). Self-nominated at 21:13, 22 May 2015 (UTC).

  • Note: this is not eligible for the 2x BLP exception, but it's not needed, as the regular 5x expansion requirement was easily satisfied. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 10:06, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Hook says he won an award as an actor/diver (whatever that means), but the article says he won the award for his role as an actor/diver (whatever that means). EEng (talk) 08:15, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • They both mean: a) he appeared in the commercial as an actor, and specifically appearing as a diver; and b) for that appearance in the commercial, he received a Young Artist Award. It's of interest that his acting role was as a diver, because his other claim to fame is as a windsurfer. Epeefleche (talk) 08:33, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
No, they don't both mean that. The article's statement that he received and award for "his role as a diver/actor" implies that he played a character who was an actor who also dived. It's a different statement. EEng (talk) 12:34, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
He played the role of a diver. How would you think that would best be captured? Epeefleche (talk) 13:17, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that years after Israeli Nimrod Mashiah won a Young Artist Award for playing a diver in a commercial, he won a silver medal as a windsurfer at the RS:X World Championships? EEng (talk) 13:38, 26 May 2015 (UTC) (Honestly I'm not sure the juxtaposition makes such a good hook -- diving isn't windsurfing, they just happen to both be watersports.)
  • Thanks. I'm fine with that. I think it is in part the fact that it isn't the same watersport that makes interesting. It's not strictly a contrast, and it's not strictly the same sport. Or, if people think it better somehow, we could change "playing a diver in a commercial" to "acting in a commercial". Any of those work for me. Epeefleche (talk) 13:44, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • In any of the above versions, feel free to replace "he won a silver medal as a windsurfer at the RS:X World Championships" with "he was ranked # 1 in the world in men's windsurfing" (which I just discovered was the case). Epeefleche (talk) 05:27, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Full review needed, now that hook wording seem to have been settled. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:32, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
  • This article is a five-fold expansion and is new enough and long enough. The ALT1 hook fact has an inline citation to a reliable source, the article is neutral and I detected no close paraphrasing. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:41, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
