Orator Shafer
edit- ... that Orator Shafer's 50 outfield assists in 1879 established a Major League Baseball record that has stood for over 130 years?

- Date and extent of expansion verified. Hook has sufficient interest as a record that has stood practically forever. Hook and article are both supported by reliable sources. Prose OK. One stylistic element that should be fixed is that the lead should merely summarize facts already contained in the main body and therefore need not have in-line citations. Though not a reason IMO to hold this back from DYK, the article should be re-worked to make the lead consistent with these practices. Spot-checking shows no evidence of copyvio/close paraphrase problems. Cbl62 (talk) 06:33, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
